Its like a train wreck, gota keep looking. And I dont really care, I just dont see how this guy has so many people giving him props, when he hasnt done a damn thing but run his trap, and complain about his truck,;or tell people they dont know what they are talking about, only to be proven wrong. Hes worse than that idi homo on psn.

Well each to there own but at this point I wold say that most are impressed with the preparation and planing going into this project I for one don't now chit about what he is getting ready to do and I really hope he does it but the main thing I am interested in is the frame stretch because it is something I would like to do to my truck I want a crew cab with a 10 foot bed.

You bag on psd's on every forum you post on. How weak and pathetic they are. Then you btich about noy having enough room for other psople...you have 5 in the cab aleady, are you wanting to smuggle illegals? Tell them to buy their own ***ing camper. Goddanm you are one frustrating son of a monkey fister, i hope you build the abortion and hit the road with it, and as you're pulling mountain passes at 95mph on your 600hp tune, that your shtity design, and attempt to recreate the wheel, rips your truck into two pieces, catapulting the driveshaft through your crap spewing mouth...i mean, asz. I say we ban this jackoff for being the biggest bs talking, 45 pages of build thread with nothing happening, but plenty of "im gonna do this", "psd's suck", remarks crom this wankerr. Is the reason you have to hVe room for just SO MANY passengers, because part of the deal with your parents in exchange for them letting you and your life partner, 2 chihuahuas, and 3 adopted asian babies, that you would let them tag a lomg on vacation too?! I mean...jesus

Wow.

If you really just have to know the story behind why we need more seating capacity, my wife's sister died in child birth and her 9 year old daughter likes to spend time with us in summer. Should I tell her to go fawk herself and get her own camper ?

And my 80 year old widowed mother in law likes to come along too. Last summer I took her through the Rockies for the first time since her husband died 18 years ago. She cried.

And we haven't even started to discuss our kid's friends or all the cousins they have.

Maybe YOU have no friends and family, but we have more than our Superduty will hold, on a regular basis.

Want the truth about the 6.4 in my truck ?

The up pipes are leaking. Again. Nothing like raw diesel fumes in the cab in the morning. Yum. The first owner had them done once already under warranty. My truck is now out of warranty. Can they be fixed without pulling the cab ?

Its impossible to drive the &^*! thing in a snowstorm without plugging the air filter. Nothing like climbing a mountain pass in a storm with half power. Great for ski trips, driving in the truck lane with the 4 way flashers on with the chained up highway tractors.

Something in the EGR system either plugged or stuck the other day.

I was driving along and pulled over to the side of the road to take a cell phone call. By the end of the call the engine was loping like hell and the CEL was on. It wasn't knocking or smoking so I limped back home at about 20 MPH. When I started it the next day, it ran perfect. I've put on a couple thousand miles since then, but I don't trust it.

Yesterday about 300 miles from home it wouldn't shift into OD. Not sure if it was an engine or transmission issue. It did it for about 10 miles. 2400 RPM at 65 MPH, no shiftie. I pulled over, cycled the key on/off and went back out onto the highway and its worked fine ever since. Cue the Twighlight Zone theme music.

And now that its gotten colder, about twice a week I get drivers passing me shaking their fist. When I look back I see a huge cloud of blue/white smoke. This truck got a new EGR valve and sensors in March and a complete new fuel system in April.

All this with less than 120K on it. And its not like its gotten babied or it sits around. I put over 30,000 miles on it in the last year, almost all of them highway miles and a good portion pulling a big trailer.

This might be your idea of a great diesel engine, but I think it sucks. And I certainly don't want to work on the friggin thing. So out it goes. Good riddance.

Sounds sort of like you bought a piece of shti. Ive got multiple 6.4 owner friends, and none of them have any issues. They are tuned and deleted ghough. Several of your gripes will not be satisfied with a cummins. I do not understand why people think thdy are the end all, be all of diesel motors. Ive drove several, and never been impressed.

As for the sob story on why you need a 10 passenger bus, I watched my mom battle back to back rounds of ovarian cancer, whjch after she was cleared kf that, 2 months later on the day of her 49th birthday, was diagnosed with brain cancer, and I watched her dwindle away to a 60lb. Bed ridden vegetable in capable of talking or moving any part of her body, mouth, eyes etc, before she died on seaster sunday. So according to that logic, my father, and my nephew, who my parents had custody of, should become permanent fixtures in any of my future families travel plans? Leading me to have to buy one of those custom pre-made 6 door super duty's from up in Oklahoma? Don't think so Wilbur.

If there was forward movement in this thread, you wouldnt hear a peep from me! Honestly, I'd love to see this thing come together, but the chopping it up and adding doors, a shorter bed, etc. is way over the top, and un-necessary as far as I se it. The dogging on powerstrokes, how weak and problematic they are;, I towed my cars all over the country with mine, over a 1/4 million miles worth, and never once felt it was underpoweed, and it never once left me stranded, or broke down. Hence...me saying you got a bad one.

Every update is about how you just took another trip, and more bitches you have about the truck, but theres no progress with the build, so it's like "well wtf do you think is gonna happen? Nothig but disappointment until you fix the problem, duh". And if you didnt go around slamming any sort of criticism you get for anything, outside of the people who just stroke your ego with how "awesome" it will be when its done.

Kinda like me starting a thread on my build with my car, and saying how disapoointing, and slow 12's on street tires is, and I am building a forged stroker motor with a f1 procharger, and looking for 700rwhp, but not making any progress with it. Then I keep coming back, and complaining about how tired I am of my current power level.

Anyhow, I am done making attacks at you, carry on with your build, and I hope you get this thing completed and make me eat my words when it is finished.

Your build goes over my head. You want a 6 door shortbed truck but when all set and done when you have 8-9 people in it with the trailer hooked up your going to be over your GVWR of 11,500. And then the process and documentation of having to get the frame certified after you cut it twice. Then there is strectching the cab, interior, paint, engine swap. I understand the family vacations. But wouldn't be easier to leave your truck the way it is as a 4 door longbed and just take 2 vehicles? The time you spend on stretching the frame is time you could be spending on vacations. It sounds like you have a couple of adults traveling with you and with 9 people I'm sure everyone isn't going to want to travel/share in the only vehicle.

I don't think this guy really has a clue what he's doing. 6months and no process yet? His ideas change every day...just do something already...we're all losing interest

I've read all 12 pages, but don't want to back read... Why not buy a diesel pusher, and tow a minivan? That way you can have people travel in comfort, yet still have a vehicle that can transport your party once you arrive at your camping destination?

Ok damnit. I leave for 2 or 3 months only to come back to a S#!+ storm or epic proportions. How about this. Everybody STFU except for the OP or anyone that knows MORE about making a CR6.7CTD talk to a Ford 6R140 while making it fit in a truck neither were designed for.

Me2, this would go better in the tow rig section on Pirate 4x4.

No it wouldnt. The guys over on ole Pirate4x4, down there in the ole tow rig section arent too fond of this guy. Bashing their medium duty trucks to haul big heavy trailers, versus using f350 pickups.

Use a medium duty internatonal with a 350hp m11 cummins, and a 10 speed with air brakes, to haul that 20k lb trailer across a couple states, or do it with a f350 diesel pickup...this me2 guy seems to think you are an idiot for picking the mdt, because you cant take a soccer team with you.

So who left it up to you to say what is right or wrong? Judging by your sig you have a lot of strong opinions about pretty much everything. Thanks for taking it upon yourself to police the internet.

Do us all a favor and suck on the end of a shotgun....

Hi, I admire your skillset. I don't own a truck, but read this thread mainly because I like to see creative things done with mechanical and computer skills all blended together.

Please ignore the jerks and keep posting. Your research deserves to be preserved to help others in the future.

Thanks for all your previous posts,
Dave
