Because you've already done the work to make your truck badass! Your truck can do everything an ecoboost can only 10times better!! If your worried about reliability run a mild tune... She'll run great and I would be worried about things going wrong

Edit... Saw your other thread lol... Make it reliable and run a mild tune. I mean why get a stock warranty truck if you wanna push the limits of this one? What's your goal, that's probably a much better question.

Not only that but the power is better and I get better mileage with my tuned truck then my step father does with his eco boost

Just to ask this question I guess that means you don't need the gvw and towing ability of your current truck. If your just driving it and need to put something in the back every once and a while. I really can't think of a reason not to switch. My mother has a lariat ecoboost. I makes my truck look like an OBS inside and out. Rides ten times better, Gets great mileage. And for a stock truck its really quick. Like 6.0 powerstroke with a mild tune quick bone stock.

If I did not need the towing ability of my current truck it would be gone already.

If you don't need it, and aren't in love with having a diesel, I'd trade.

Ive been down this dark dirty road before. I barely fit in the front.seat of halfton trucks. If you are over.6' tall and over 200lbs, just forget halfton trucks even exist. My trucks "empty" tend to have more stuff in them than a halfton cares.to haul anyway.

If you find yourself with an empty truck bed everyday then I personally wouldnt even have a truck. Buying a half ton just to.have one is being beyond indecisive. Used my dads 04 f150 5.4 fx4 heritage(looks like 97-03) last week to pull my goatboard trailer with a treadmill and bowflex plus about 600lb of free weights. It pulls it fine but at highway speeds its obvious its not.enough truck or power to pull that dorky load on OD. Now I know that tye ecoboost has more power but its still a half-ton truck.

If you need the room but not the bed get a hd suburban or expedition and a trailer for.hauling in place of a truck bed. Hell a small single axle 8x10 or 8x12 trailer and a H3, ex, or suburban and done. Halftons suck, period!! For anybody who owns a 3/4 or 1ton, esp a superduty, the difference is.obvious.

Actually the new F150s are extremely roomy. My buddy's has as much room as my super duty if not more. I'm 6'3" with very long legs and his gives me plenty of room and someone can sit behind me comfortably

We have a few 99-08 f150s at the construction company I work for. Tow bobcats, scissors lifts etc. Could they pull better? Of course, but they still get the job done. A half ton is MORE than enough truck for most people out there.

Well I absolutely love my truck. And I'm just so stupefied knowing it left me on the side of the road with a blown turbo.. I always had confidence in my truck and know every trip ill take ill be scared. I own a diesel cause I travel long distances to hunt and I'm always using the bed for various things....it has good ground clearances, has 35s and I still get 18mpg on the highway. I like packing it up and just riding out. It's a big rig and is awesome for what I need. Basically my dream truck. but I don't push it hard, never made a drag strip pass, and always drive it with care....I'm just pissed and worried now that down the line ill have to pay for a fuel pump or injectors or something like that. not looking forward to that. I need the backseat space of a super duty, I keep my 2 duck dogs and guns and etc. and I need the 6.5ft bed for coolers and etc and small boats and I also tow a light boat during duck season and it's super comfortable to tow.

You all know how it goes. When it's running 100 percent it makes me smile. When it's siting in the shop right now I'm trying to figure out how to get rid of it.

Breaking stuff is unfortunately just part of the game when you start adding power. Doesn't matter if it's a truck or a lawn mower.

I owned a ram 1500 hemi before this. And towing my 23ft boat out of a boat ramp the front motor bearing ran dry and blew the motor.
So I put a built 5.7 hemi in it for about 5k. Then I wanted a diesel for it's durability in power. But now I'm back to pouring money into it.
And I sure as hell ain't putting stock turbos back in this, I can't walk backwards!

Driving all highway only about 5 over on my way back from Ennis, TX my 6.4 only got 16.5 hand calculated. And the best tank I've ever got out of my 6.7 was 17.8. I would love to have an ecoboost. They get great mileage have good power and the fuel is a lot cheaper. There really nice trucks as well and I don't think I would regret switching to one.

I had an f150 prior to going to diesel. At the time I was towing frequently and had trans issues with my f150. It was an extremely nice truck don't get me wrong but I was tired of having it at ford for trans work. Once I went to diesel I caught the bug and it would be hard for me to switch. Not to mention for me to have an f150 to my likings I'd probably still be 45K and up for a loaded f150. IMO not worth it.

Couldnt tell ya, ive not sat, looked at, or attempted to.ride in one for years. My buddy has a new ram half ton hemi.crew and its small in back too. Id have to.see the crewcab in an f150 to believe its that big.

There's more room in the back of a crew cab f150 than a crew cab super duty.

My neighbor has an eccoboost and gets 14 - 15 mpg, same as me. ( hand calculated, no trailer) Ford exaggerates about the fuel economy just a little.
