For what you want wouldn't a Raptor fit it because don't they come from the factory with 33s and lift so you'd have the ground clearance you want. I'd still pick a diesel though unless you plan to supercharge the Raptor LOL

I would imagine the higher price is a subtle way to deter people away from them and into the other platforms to help them, Ford, meet their CAFE standards without upsetting the consumer by not giving them an option.

I drove the Eco boost and the 5.4l f150. That's what I wanted for my wife since we didn't need 3 diesel trucks. After driving both f150s and a 250 then sitting down and looking at the numbers plus the resale valve and safety features we ended up with the 250.

I'd fix yours run a mild tune and enjoy it.

A CCSB FX4 Ecoboost with minor mods can run 12's. I love them, and I highly debated buying one for my daily driver. Super nice, and you can get a fully loaded out 2013 FX4 for under $40k. I was close to buying one, but then decided I still have the other 6.4L to use as a truck, so I ended up in a 335xi.

I've also heard of a few tuned Ecoboost fellas knocking out mid-20's for MPGs on the highway.

35's kill F 150's period. My girlfriend's dad put a leveling kit and some slightly larger Terra Grapplers on his 2010. Fuel mileage dropped like 2-3 mpg. Truck has a 5.4 in it, but that little bit of added resistance kills those trucks.

Must have been a 55 mph highway and they were running the speed limit. Lol

It was at 65 MPH, IIRC.

As Jeff said, 35's will DESTROY fuel mileage on a gasser with stock gearing. I had a 2000 5.4L with 35's and stock gearing... I was lucky to get 10 or 11 MPG. It was pitiful. It's on 33's now (m girlfriend's step dad bought it from me) and is averaging around 14 MPG.

Hell, I dont.buy 14 on 33's. My dads 04 ec/sb 5.4 gets 11 on stock sized.rubber. He drives like a grandpa too. Because he is.

I get 16.5 mixed both freeway and city. Did a 1200 mile road trip few months ago and got 21 mpg freeway with cruise set to 68. I usually drive it really hard though, could get better gas mileage if I didn't beat on it but where is the fun in that? :)

It's all in your driving habits.

Didnt read that did ya? Ive had one too but in a rc/lb superduty and it got 11-13 but mostly closer to 11. Put some 17x10s and 33x12.5s on the superduty and it was ten or a hair.better.

Ive had three vehicles.with that motor, my dad keeps impeccable fuel mileage records, and 15 aint happening on a 5.4.

Lemme.guess, you're driving habits get you 20 in that 6.4? LOL

Just made a 2400 mile round trip in the wifes new 2013 FX4 Ecoboost and let's just say I have yet to drive an off the show room floor diesel that I liked better.

I have built/modified many a diesel truck from the Dino 7.3 to 85,000.00 2013 6.7's and none have driven or handled like the new F150/Ecoboost trucks, for a light duty trailer hauler/daily driver they are/will be hard to beat.

Average mileage was 18.1 driving north of 80 every Chance I got, only drawback is the truck wants to cruise at 90 so speeding tickets may offset any savings in the average .50 cents difference in fuel cost, just saying.

LOL so I guess your experiences trump others? LOL Plenty of people get better than 15 MPG, you need to come out from under that little rock of yours and open your eyes to the real world. I'm not saying the 5.4L can get 20 MPG, but 15 MPG is easily attainable. I also like how you changed the number from 14 to 15... I never previously stated anything about getting 15 MPG.

5.4L in a Super Duty vs. a 5.4L in an F-150 is a huge difference in fuel mileage.

I have actually achieved, on occasion, a hare over 20 MPG in the 6.4L at 60-65 MPH. It's on stock tires and suspension. That's been done countless times on tuned/deleted (otherwise stock) trucks. Vivian is claiming mid-20's with her tunes.

Like I said, it all depends on your driving habits. Just because your dad is a grandpa doesn't mean he drives his vehicle in a fuel efficient manner. And just because your experiences differ from mine, doesn't make my (and many other owners') experiences incorrect.

18.1 MPG at 90 MPH.... Impressive, to say the least. My Super Duty would get around 14 MPG or less at those kind of speeds.

Must have like 2.89 gears.

I kid, I kid. :D

In all seriousness, I could see an Ecoboost with 3.31 gears getting DECENT fuel economy at speeds above 70 MPH. That's the only thing the truck would be effective doing though....driving on the highway.
