a simple water column test(not filter minder) before and after filter assembly swap would put anybody's poo in the toilet, clean... Charmin clean with itchy butt insurance.

It really is simple physics... more filter surface area = less restriction.

Manometer anyone? Ive got 3 floppin' around somewhere.

Can I get a 6inch? Make it fit.....

Now we are talking, you can put a 10 foot long filter on the end of a 4" piece of pipe and the 4" will be the restriction NOT the filter.

Dealing with air I know.. Its compresable,

However this is simple reverse engineering of hydraulics and or electricity ... conductivity.

Air flow -- same theory.

I get 5% COMMISION SO EVERY ONE GO FULL RETARD LOL

David. The industry has changed quite a bit. Everyone now refers to their male body parts in all thread topics and posts.... no research anymore. Lots of kids buying brand new trucks. I'm certain your aware of all this especially being in south texas. "Dirty money"

I do miss the days of the 7.3L when most guys were serious enough to carry on a logical conversation. Regardless if it got debated or heated. At least their was real logic and knowledge being shared.... not anymore....

Glad your enjoying your laws of physics with a big pipe and air cleaner. Volumetric efficiency at its best.

Myself on the other hand opted for the air cleaner delete mod.

Interestingly enough I replaced my CLOSED Box AFE air intake with that NO LIMIT Hot air breathing junk air intake on my 2012 today and the LIE O METER went from my usual average of 19 to 19.4 just on my short 10 mile
trip home.

Not to pick this to death. But I wonder how far off the MAF sensor is with this new fangled non engineered hillbilly no limit intake.(just kidding mike) Not that it matters really.

Plays a pretty hefty role in tip-in fueling.

Mike, Did your coupler change to a 1-piece design? Did you also change the effective angle on the coupler as well? Mine has the 5-4" reducer and the angle is such that the pipe does not want to fit into the coupler.

Im pretty sure that if you play with the coupler enough it should be in the right position with something as large in the intake Im sure it will take some messing with to get just right. Also the ones Ive seen installed the pipe goes pretty far into the coupler to get it just right.

What intake are you running by the way?

Im not sure if his changed or not...but I got the same boot you have. It was very hard to get it in the right spot I can tell you that. Seems like everything has to be just perfect to get it to fit right, especially if you still have your EGR system intact with the coolant hose running over top of it. There is probably less than a 1/4 inch clearance between that coolant pipe and the underside of the hood on mine.

Mine shoved right in there and was fine. I have the new coupler though. Just shove it in till it won't let you anymore and call it good.
