I finished getting the tranny lines ran tonight and when I started to fill the tranny it started leaking between the trans and tcase. So I pulled the driveshafts and dropped the tcase, it looks like they put the wrong seal in the OD housing on the tranny, either that or it's not made for the input shaft of the 241DHD, time to do some research. I was really hoping to fire it up tonight, so close, yet so far away :(

I got the new seal and tcase reinstalled tonight. Started filling the trans with oil and what do you know, it started leaking again!!! I'm almost positive it's not the seal, my dad thinks there could be a crack in the OD housing, I'm gonna pull the tcase and inspect it very closely. I'm also thinking it could possibly be that the input shaft hub on the tcase might not be going all the way into the seal.
Does anyone have a break down of a 241DHD and a 241 DLD so I can compare them and see if there's any difference in the hub lengths? I would greatly appreciate it!

It's ALIVE!!! It turns out the tcase I got was off of a manual trans and wouldn't work, my dad located one out of an auto truck and we put it in. We had to get the rear driveshaft changed also since the slip yokes are different. After spending over an hour trying to get the fuel system primed I decided to pull the lines off the factory ford lines and discovered they were backwards  after we figured that out it took awhile but it finally primed and fired off! :D now we've gotta finish up the trans and tcase linkage, finish putting the front clip back together, and I'm sure we'll find 100 other little things before we pull it out of the garage, but hopefully it happens SOON!!

We made some more progress over the weekend, my dad had been trying to figure out why it won't start with the key yet. He wants to utilize the neutral safety switch but there must be something in the PCM or wiring that we're overlooking that's keeping it from cranking. We should have it figured out this week. It starts and runs really well, the throttle response is really good too. I'm hoping to get the intake pipe and down pipe fanned up this week.

I built the crossover pipe last night, I'm gonna sand it down and paint it tonight. I also ordered two 5" 90 degree bends to build the intake tonight. And I'm hoping to locate a stock down pipe today so I can cut the flange off and make a custom one.

I got the two elbows cut for the intake, I'm gonna order a custom filter from AFE tomorrow, once it gets here I'll weld the intake up after checking for clearance. I'm feeling under the weather tonight so I won't be making any progress, but my dad is still scouring wiring diagrams trying to get the neutral safety switch figured out.

Good looking swap! I have been following along for a bit. Did you ever figure out the correct tooth count for. Tone ring to get the tach working?

Honestly I'm not sure if it's working, I don't believe it was the last time we started it. After talking to quite a few people and spending hours looking at wiring diagrams it seems that we're gonna have to use a push button to start it, otherwise the neutral safety switch won't work.

Well we finally let my little sister drive it out of the garage for the first time yesterday, she was pretty excited! We're really trying to get this thing completed before the Centex dyno day on May 3rd, we haven't been able to meet any of our previous deadlines but hopefully we'll make this one! Idiesel (her boyfriend) is gonna do some tig welding on the intake plumbing and the crossover pipe to make it look better, then we're gonna throw a 4 inch dp back exhaust on it that he's got laying around. We're also looking for a way to turn off the CEL but haven't looked too much into it yet.

Can you tell me what all you had to do for wiring on this? Like to make factory gauges and stuff work. What computers need to stay in the truck?

I don't think they removed any computers but the wiring is something pstroke will help with being I wasn't around much for the wiring.

I did get some time to fab the air intake and fixing coopers welds didn't go over very well so I had to end up fabbing a new crossover pipe. Been cleaning up some wiring and fitted the fan shroud on it last week. Soon as I get the exhaust put on I'm going to drive it down to my dads shop so we can rerun some a/c and heater hoses while we have all the parts on hand.

Here's a few different pictures.
Intake sits in there without touching or rubbing anything. I'm not the best tig welder by any means but I'm very pleased with how it has turned out

The truck is currently over at Idiesels house, it's been sitting for awhile while he added on to his shop. It only needs exhaust and the solenoids we're going to use for the overdrive and TC lock up need to be setup and wired in. Between me taking summer classes and Idiesel being balls deep in hay season there just hasn't been enough hours in the day to work on it.

The engine mounts are from diesel conversion specialists, the trans mount is custom and utilizes the factory ford cross member. There's pictures of it without the front end completely back together in this thread somewhere.

The way it's looking I'll have a free week coming up soon and I'm hoping to jump on the exhaust and re run some lines to clean up under the hood. Sorry it's taking so long guys but I will definitely update this soon as I find some time to get things done.
