Hey guys. I have a 2015 f250 and am running Mobil 1 5w40 with motorcraft oil filters. I have been changing both oil and filter at 5000 mile intervals. I am wanting to go a little further on my OCI to maybe 6500 to 7000 miles. Question is will I need to change my oil filter before then or can I Change it at the 6500 to 7000 miles as well?? Thank you

I've been servicing my 2015 F-550 every 7,500 since new with CAT 10w30 and Donaldson Filters. Scheduled oil samples at every interval show no adverse wear.

Cool deal. From what I hear the Mobil one should hold up longer than 5000. Don't really pull anything. About half and half on in town driving and highway. I just wanted to make sure the filter would be alright running it that long as well. Thanks guys

I run Mobil 1 5-40 at 5k OCI. But I run the truck hard, I figure oil is cheap insurance. If you don't tow a lot or run it hard. 7500 OCI is just fine.

Mechanics on this board have said several times that the worn engines usually come
from running synth oil. Not from the oil, it is fine. The problem is the contaminates. Just
because you run synth doesnt mean that there are not the same contaminates as
a good quality dyno oil.Folks like to run the synth too long and the engine wears from
the junk in the oil. Way better to run dino and change at 5k, than run synth longer
when the oil is a mess.

Key is to get it tested the way you drive, then you will know when it needs to be
changed and then take off 500-1000 miles and change it a little early. Oil is cheap
compared to any lubrication related problems.

Wow. 7500 miles on a deIeted truck is way too soon.

Oil analysis shows you can obviously go much farther. I can see a filter change. But not an oil dump.

I run LE 5w-40 with Motorcraft filters and am about 1000 miles from the first full change. I changed the filter at 5000 and did an oil analysis. Everything was better than the previous oil analysis I did on the T6 oil after 5000 miles with the exeption of fuel dilution. I feel a combination of slightly more idle time and considerably more town driving contributed to the slight increase. It was still well within acceptable range.

Do you guys recommend black stone labs for a oil analysis? I'm right at 5000 miles since my last oil change. I figured I will go to 6500 on the oil and filter and have a test done.

How long are you going? I figure in AZ with this heat, towing, oil temps being 230+. I shouldn't go that long.

12k is not unrealistic. The analysis gives a great breakdown of the condition of the oil. Everytime I changed between 10 and 12 the analysis still showed way more to go. For others reading this please keep in mind this is on a fully deIeted truck.

No. I can't remember why, but I think there's something they don't test. Call Jim Kukulski at 616-460-9949. He looooves oil and oil analysis.

This is his section on here. There's a Blackstone thread about 7 down. http://powerstrokearmy.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=211[/

Just spoke with Jim. Super nice guy and seems very informative about oil and filtration. I think I am going to go with him on my analysis. Are you running his oil by any chance?? Thanks

Will the bypass filter void the warranty??
