Farting in the truck will likely void the warranty, so... Unless they can prove the bypass filter directly contributed to the failure, they can't legally deny coverage. That's not to say they'll not start by denying coverage. If the fails in any way that could be caused by lubrucation, you'll likely have a hard time getting them to change their mind since the bypass filter "alters" the factory lubrication system. The fact that it makes it better will probably not be relevant. If the high pressure fuel pump fails, you.sgould be able to get them to cover it since the lubrication system has nothing to do with the fuel system.

Bottom line is expect to fight for coverage if altering anything.

My biggest fear on trucks with *** in tact is fuel dilution. Every time it gets shut off during a regen, or just doing regen in general, the oil ends up a little more diluted, and the oil grows. On "high sulfur" trucks it's no big deal to go a lot longer. On my last 6.0, I'd regularly go 10K miles on valvoline synthetic 5w-40, with a motorcraft filter and top off at 5K. I just run dyno oil on my 6.4's, but may switch back to that routine. As mentioned before, just because the oil is good, doesn't mean it's as clean as it needs to be.

Talking of filters, I don't have a bypass but i purchased some of these and I'm curious if any ones heard of them. But I haven't used them yet, will on my next oil change. Are they legit? I've been running MC filter with le 5w40. But these looked either better than MC or a gimmick.

Well I found the site and chuckled when the first thing I seen was the kits using Amsoil filters.
Now I'm not knocking Amsoil as it was my first choice before I realized the benefits of Jims kits over Amsoil.

The oilcharge systems kits does appear to have a better mounting and such then what Amsoil offers but it's still the same filter and well that's what we are all really after..

So IMO if I was looking at them again I'd go Jims kit , oilcharge systems and then amsoil...

I am glad you like what you chose.I am happy with what I have.FWIW,I can't find any independant lab reports of the efficiency of the Filtroil filter.Do they make them themselves?

We run our dleted 6.7's 10k intervals on schaeffer 5w-40 full syn. One has ran up to 14k intervals. Oil analysis says it could go even longer.

Just for discussion our Prevost charter buses are rated to run 40k miles on oil changes. That seems extreme so they typically get serviced 20-25k.

I will freely publish the fact that in our fleet of many 8000+HP engines we run them at 15,000hr intervals between oil changes at times. Government regulations are knocking us back to 8760hr intervals. But I have creeped as much as 20,000hrs on an oil change. (Mind you the sump is 750 gallons of oil) engine is worth roughly $7,000,000 a per engine.

I understand this is not mileage but you get the drift.... yes these are natural gas engines that burn much cleaner... but we live by oil sampling. The diesels run very long hour intervals as well as long as they have centrifuge spinners on them. They do very well. I've seen upwards of 10,000hrs before the oil was changed. And no there is no sludge buildup. The engines are large enough to go into the oil pan and take a look around inside. And I mean your body inside the crankcase.

I use to have the documentation from each company stating the Beta & micron but can not find them in my email, but that's still not independent results that you asked for.
I guess it will just come down to what each person believes after talking to Jim and amsoil; which I did and you already know my choice.

No that's not what I'm saying at all..

Jim clearly showed me the info on beta and micron and I seen the same info from the amsoil filters.
when I seen those I could clearly see which one was better IMO; are they independent no, not from my understanding.
But when your watching your diet and counting carbs do you require an independent test to believe mt dew has more carbs then ginger al; as they both state the total.
Maybe a bad example but you get the point.
Do you require an independent test on everything you by for your truck?
Have you called Jim or amsoil and asked for the data they can provide on the subject?

Cause it sure seems your putting it on me to get you the info, when you told me to Google your setup well here I am telling you to Google the info your requesting.
I know what I found out and although I can not provide that info I passed along my thoughts on the best oil bypass system in this thread; if you don't like that it's fine as your opinion is great also.
That's the point of these open discussions.
