Whoa whoa.... Booze and strippers that's a waste? You mean when I make it "rain" ones it's not smart???? could have bought a decent beater for as much as I've pissed away at strip joints in the past.....

Dam....u guys got some high interest rates.....

im 19yo on a cosigned loan. there was already a car loan, credit card amounts due to having to replace a motor in the car, and a mortgage on my cosigners credit. 9.99% is great for the circumstances.

Update/questions and junk:

Questions: just curious, what are y'all seeing for ICP voltage and IPR tuned? My CTS goes off every time ICP voltage goes over 4.0, I know stock 4.0 is healthy, but tuned, does that sound right?

Disclaimer: I don't know chit about transmissions lol.
When I put it in reverse or drive, there's a pause/delay. Usually when it's colder, but not limited to the trans being colder. I haven't serviced the trans, but that's on my list of stuff to do now.

Other than that, she's running pretty well. It seems like maybe the thermostat is going out intermittently? Both times I've taken it on a longer interstate trip, ECT has been in the lower 180°s and EOT from the mid 190°s to low 200° so I'm thinking that my oil cooler may not be as bad as I think. Usually in the city EOT and ECT are both in the 190°s occasionally the low 200°s

Direct Drive upgrade solenoid and our new solution kit. Done deal

Great…how big of an issue is this usually? I'm assuming replacing the clutches is the best thing to do, how involved is that job?

Guess I'll add a DD solenoid to the list too.

Don't worry about the clutches at this point. The trans will show significant signs of wear prior too giving you the big eff you. I'd say you're fine, just need to get the solenoid in asap

My approach to feeding this addiction when I started was a STUPID one. Maxing out high limit credit cards.

I learned a good lesson from all that.

"….because my wife beat me with her purse"

Wait.... Garrett..... should I not be doing that? I should stop then.

Lol. I really wish I could just sell drugs. It would be sooo much easier haha

On a 7.3 IDI? yeah you should have stopped right around the time you swiped your card to put diesel in the tank.

Punk a$$ kids

Just curious you paid how much for a 6.0 with how many miles and I already know what's on the interior but what configuration? Crew cab or what?

Just for the record I'm running injectors and a turbo on a PMR 7.3. Trans builds are also cheaper on the 4r than the 5r. The 4r is also much simpler. The 7.3 is an awesome motor to have for work and play. Abused daily. I'm not trying to start a fight but look at the issues 6.0's and 6.4's have and look at the issues 7.3's have. Not even in the same ballpark. Only thing I had to do was a trans.

Got it through work, $11k 06 ccsb 197k miles lariat 4x4 etc. no sunroof, upfitters or heated seats. Back up sensors, esof, power back glass.
parusy4y.jpg

The fuel tank sending unit was bad as was #5 injector, got that fixed so $12k ootd. It was for sale for $13.5 iirc, and we had an 03 ccsb lariat 7.3 w/ 214k mi for $14k

Add $4k for studs n what not, and it needs injectors(gonna save my pennies for 175s or 190s). Only thing not "accounted for" so to say is the HPOP itself. Only thing I really HAD to do was the tank sending unit, so I wouldn't run it empty. EGR delete and new oil cooler(I haven't really run it long since the flush, so I don't know if it has affected the cooler) and I'd feel pretty confident in it. But I want more power, so I'll do studs as well.

6.0s are faster and easier to make power from as well, which played in my decision too. My limiting factor power wise will be the trans. I don't want to build it, so I'll size my turbo and injectors accordingly.(want to say 550-600hp area, but obvious if I go over that, I won't complain.) And I'll pray that the trans holds, since it's not towing much/often.

The only "issues" that come to mind on the 6.0 is a ruptured oil cooler, and blown hgs, which is a coolant issue in a round about way. Both have issues w/ the oil/fuel system. Maybe 6.0s have more HPOP issues? I don't know that much of the 7.3.

I'll agree that the 6.4 can be worse, failed hpfp is big money. But then a tuner and exhaust will put a 6.4 where I want to be with my 6.0(550hp or so). It's a gamble for sure.

I didn't want to keep derailing the other thread.

I got a loaded 02 lariat ccsb for 13k with (literally looking at the window sticker) 174,939 miles. Already chipped (mistake) it definitely is easier to get power out of a 6.0 but when I was looking I couldn't find any 6.0's around here in my price range with options I wanted for anywhere near my price range. Like I said before if I buy a 6.0 it already needs to be deleted and Bulletproofed with the upgraded EGR and oil cooler. Not deleted. My buddy has a 6.4 and we just took the cab off. Not fun and not being able to do it ourselves would have sucked because of labor costs.

I paid too much for a 07 6.0 with 132k miles that surprised me with cracked heads, bad fan clutch, bad alternator, and now I think the transmission is living on borrowed time.

Pity party, my place, 8 o'clock

See you there! I paid way too much for my 05 6.0 that was already studded and deleted. Within two weeks the cab was off and it was getting head gaskets, hpop, and rear cover. 7.3, 6.0, 6.4, they all suck in their own ways and it doesn't matter which one you get. You're going to have issues.

How bout next week? Roads are supposed to be icy. Don't wanna break down in these conditions…lol

Sucks about the trans(and everything else)

I got pretty lucky on the price, but definitely wouldn't pay more for a studded truck, unless I knew the previous owner and that everything was done right. So many people think "just head studs" or do a flush with a new oil cooler, or don't check the heads. Then complain that the truck broke. They aren't fixing what broke/the problem when they go in and just do head studs.

If you really want it…not positive how much I want for it though. And you're too far, I'll have to charge for delivery lol

Nooo delivery charge I know a guy he'll bring it to me. I don't have the money now. Maybe end of this year. Keep depreciating... Oops I mean driving it until then I may take it then :) always need a reason to travel.

Lol once it gets studs, I'm keeping it, unless someone really wants it. Go get your 6.7 to 150k mi and I'll swap you, plus $30 and a high five lol
