Had a blast night at our local street car meet had a big turn out. We all left the meet and cruised to the drag strip strip for some heads up street style racing no et slips no tree just line up and run off flash light.

loved this thread so much that you guys inspired me to finally do one, picked up an 04 f350 single cab last night, has a flat bed on it currently, im on the hunt for a bed now, i have a couple questions for you guys that have done it,

1. which fuel tank, i read a short bed tank (i have one) however this truck is 4wd. bonus is a cab and chassis with aft fuel tank but im not sure how i would go about doing the fuel neck.
2. how low can i get this 4wd? read something about excursion springs? are they lower than whats on it now?
3. what size tire combo is good on these? i found a set of 20" welds on 305/50r20 nitto 420s for 800$ im thinking of snagging.

the rest im assuming is a no brainer, fuel lines, brake cables and driveline.

I think GRacing did a 6.7 short bed tank when he built Elmo's swb 4x4.

I hope you don't mean this is a cab and chassis truck rather than regular super duty, the width of frame is different (like 37" normal vs 30" on cab and chassis unless I remember wrong) so a bed won't go on correctly. My truck is 2wd so I used a short bed f250 tank. A 4x4 needs excursion or aftermarket going in spare tire spot or an F150 4x4 short bed tank. I would recommend a taller tire on a 4x4, I think there's a big price difference in 305 50 20 and 305 55 20

yeah SLCDZL and i got under it last night and it is a cab and chassis, not to worried about it if i have to make custom mounts for the bed or drill the frame/bed to get it to line up, unless they wont line up at all?,I might not have picked it up if i had known that but for an XLT i didnt think 3k was a bad price

That definately adds to the difficulty, but at least one person has a build thread on a shorty made from a cab and chassis Im sure I could find it again if you look and don't see it.

I'm looking at doing this to a 99 4x4 RCLB

For the people who used an f150 regular cab short bed gas tank, what did you use to mount it? The f150's tank straps, modified f250 straps, something custom?

Is the f150 sender the same as a f250, or does the f250 sender fit in the f150 tank?

Any info on that would help, what year tank have you guys used?

Im still trying to decide if I want to go 4wd or 2wd I like mudstompers truck a lot but def like the lowered ones as well almost more but I weigh the pros and cons of 4wd and no 4wd.
Those of you with 2wd do you ever wish you had 4wd?

loved mine when i had it as a 2wd but the new owner has 4x4 swapped it. I'm sure when its all dialed in, it could be a track monster
