What turbo are you running?
38r with billet wheel... these are the rules.

So if I understand the rules you posted you can run a standard t4 mount and then run any 2.6 turbo you choose that fits the other spec limitations. Am I reading that correctly?

that is a good point chvy... this winter I was thinking of a tare down but if I can get this heifer to run the way it has before, I might just leave her be this year and not go with bigger injectors, better hpop, bigger turbine housing w/gate and a tire change... it is already somewhat suspicious to some of the guys and pisses one guy off to where he wont even acknowledge me when I say good hook today cuz he is one of the dmaxes that should be beating me and knocking on tomacs door.. I have pulled against him 5 times this year and beat him every time... I have absolutely nothing to hide, I tell and show anyone who wants to know whats done to the truck and I help anyone out who needs it and even have my reese hitch in the factory mounting holes on the frame and not moved forward like most do. my hooking point is 1/4" inch low. the only thing I havn't complied with is that I haven't put the two 3/8" crossbolts in the exhaust and made a kill/air shutoff switch.

come to think of it now, I have no***inidea why I havnt put the bolts in the exhaust yet.. that would be the simplest of everything I have done to the dam thing...

The rules where I'm at say the bolts have to be within XX inches of the turbine wheel. I don't remember the exact measurement, but what it boiled down to was "in the downpipe before the first turn." So, try to pull your downpipe out to drill and install bolts sometime, lol. Mine didn't have bolts until I swapped out the PMR engine.

And if I was you... I wouldn't push my luck with that engine, since you can't predict timing. Anything over 400 is unsafe on any rods if everything isn't working properly on the engine.

If it was mine it'd probably be in the stock tune until I could pull it and address the broken cam gear weld, or worn thrust plate.

Edit: I might even go so far as replacing the rods next to the blowout in each head gasket. Even though it didn't appear to hydro-lock and shut down on you, you most likely had a bit more fluid in the cylinder than you ought to have had.

Not sure but if the assemble was balanced maybe just pull the rods and have them checked at the machine shop and then put them back in, no? Or is there some damage that could be done that might not be found that would still have it be questionable?

I would own those rules......

OBS trucks have a T4 mounting flange from the factory... so does that mean they can run a 2.6" or a 2.5" inducer.... and yes I have seen the factory cast OBS mount used in a T4 charger setup just for reasons like this.....

no. if I switch to a t4 mount it has to be a 2.5 turbo

what fluid are you talking about? it blew 4 freeze plugs in the rear of the block...

if it is a direct bolt on turbo without a modified mounting method (pedistal) then it can be a straight bore 2.6 turbo... if that is the case then we need to talk..

You can put an adapter on the pedestal to make a regular turbo mount up - then you already have the OEM T4 flange from the OBS that you just need to make up-pipes for. I would have to mock one up to see what the potential clearance issues are - but I would totally be rocking an S480 with those rules. LOL

The turbo would have to be a t4 mount that bolted to the factory obs t4 mount. Only problem I see is the weight of the turbo would hang on the mount and the up pipes. Would need to "adapt" the oil feed and return lines. I think that's what HRT is meaning, maybe I'm picturing something different than he is.

GT42 mounted on an E99 pedestal. Pictures are probably 4 years old give or take. I'm not sure if this ever went into production as I have never seen it in person.

You might need to make the spacer taller to get an S400 cover to clear the intake and of course you need to use the OBS T4 flange with some custom up-pipes to make it legal according to the letter of the rules.

Hotrod. Where does a guy go about getting that 3" vband to 4.21 marmon adapter that u have on that gt42 in that pic. ??
I've been looking everywhere. Nice setup btw.

Talk to David Lott at Diesel Innovations - they are his pictures. I assume he had that adapter made.
