what happened to the Bell turbos you used to sell?

We still sell them. Both the HFSB and FSSB. The FSSB is very similar to the 364.5.

Just pulled into Weiser, ID with my 39' toy hauler in tow. I'm seriously impressed with the 364.5! Tuning is not optimized (but we're working on that) but the truck pulls hard! I turned the chip down to the stock setting pulling Cabbage Hill (6mi 6% grade w/ 50mph switchbacks) and kept it floored almost the entire time. Had to slow down for the corners but once back on the gas the truck would accelerate. EGT were 1200, trans temp right at 185, ambient temps were in the low 90s. Got 8.5 mpg on the first tank of fuel.

I've never run a sxe, but it sounds like the 364 performs very similar to the BASB. But the sxe most are using the .91, where as the BASB uses the 1.10, usually spool would be sacrificed but was not the case at all with my basb, it spooled very quickly. I would have to imagine just based on the experiance s I've read on the sxe and had with basb, is drive pressure would be much lower with the bell turbo, and probably get as well, so probably also does better at higher power levels. Not really sure on this new new bell that is on dp's site either, sounds similar to the BASB. I know your experience with bell was terrible, but I absolutely loved mine, but I'm sure these new sex series are good comparison

It all comes down to the size of the turbine wheel.
I don't know what the basb has for a turbine wheel but I'm willing to bet it is a 68mm wheel. This is why they are running a bigger 1.10 housing. The sxe 64.5 has a 73mm turbine and that's why people can get away with the .91 housing.

Excellent to hear! I wish I had thought through the T4 a bit more before getting the 38R/upipes. It's not bad at all but, I have to believe the 354.5 is better! You were definitely stuffing the throttle to land at 8.5 too.

With the 4.30s I'm turning 2200rpm @ 65mph. I found that if I sped up to 70 (2500rpm) and kept the turbo spooled up to 25psi I could pull most hills without downshifting. The RPM combined with a 12,000lb trailer are never a good combo for fuel economy, lol.

If you plan on keeping the truck for any length of time I would strongly consider selling the BB turbo and upgrading.

The 364.5 and FSSB are about the same, dimentionally. The main difference is the compressor wheel and the bearings. Pius' compressor wheel was designed by him. He pulls out the guts and upgrades all of them when building a turbo as well.

It uses the same size exhaust wheel as the 364.5 you are running.

It is a 64mm compressor wheel, but different design. The standard BW housing (such as the one on your SXE) will not work on the Bell turbos because of this difference in design either.

What are the intentions for the truck? I would think if hes going to use it for any kind of towing he would want the 66.

For a play truck or DD Id go the 69 route.

But we haven't really seen much feed back on the 369 yet.
