Anyone know why when I turn my advance Trac off (hold down for 8 seconds) my truck still blinks the traction light and hits like a fuel cut?

When the advancetrac is off it's still "on"and if the tires are slipping at a certain point it will kick it back on some trucks do it some don't.

You can unplug a front wheel sensor if you really need it to "fully" off but that will turn the speedometer off and will turn on various warning like "service advancetrac" etc.

Like if I'm taking off from a stop sign and getting in it. Once it starts to spin it will let it for a min and right before the 2nd gear shift it will cut it and fall on its face.

Mine does this in the snow and mud. Extremely frustrating. Cant get the tires spinning to clean out the tires. I get further in 2wd in my 08 than I do in my 13 in 4wd.

My 2011 F150 Fx4 was the same way. Trying to act up in sand and as soon as you'd get the tires spinning good you would see the TC kicking in and killing the power. Absolutely sucked!

I talked about ways to bypass this quite some time ago with a detailed how-to.

I don't know if the trucks are the same. But Ford's advancetrac system is annoying as hell. My 2014 mustang gt, if you hit traction control off...it'll allow you a smidge of fun, but will kick the throttle out once you get past a certain degree of yaw, and it'll cut power on a 3-4 powershift. Hit the trac control twice, and it'll go into sport mode, which is really no different. To turn advancetrac OFF...and traction control OFF...hold the brake pedal down, and push and hold the traction control button for like 8 seconds..and it'll turn advancetrac, and everything off. It might work the same on the trucks? I'm going to see if I can't get a tuner to completely disable it. I know in my old 09, I could turn it off via the sct, to where if you wanted traction control, you turned it on with the button. Works much MUCH better that way.

Jason i know exactly what you mean,i could drift my 5.0's & annihalate the tires but not so much with this truck.I am convinced that this may be why i'm so disappointed with the performance of my truck. It may not be the lack of power but the application of it being thwarted by the nannies.
The lack of anybody helping figure it out is also a huge change from the support of the mustang community, where instead of knocking you they direct you in the right direction.
The idea of putting it on an upfitter switch is pure genius, just wish i had known this along time ago & didn't have to be so discouraged for so long with my truck that cost more then a boss302.

is this only an issue on 13+ trucks? i have yet to have a problem other then hitting a rev limiter on a shift and snuffing it out.

If you hold the button down for 8 seconds it says it's off. I haven't tried to see if anything kicks back in but I've gotten in the habit of always turning it off. The truck just seems to drive better in normal traffic without it.
