Could a guy get cameras on the truck that are activated by the alarm system? Upload to an email or a server? You can watch as the proud new owners of your truck and a sore butthole act in the very movie that incriminates them.

I pull the 20a fuse that protects the starter circuit often. Place it in the cup holder. You can't do anything then.

We gotta have a way to prevent them from even trying to break in in the first place.

If they could see that the truck was "Theft Proofed", then maybe they would just move onto the next vehicle.

Hiding stuff that prevent the truck from starting, just pisses them off, and they are gonna make a mess....not that they won't make a mess of your ride anyways.

Even something as silly as "The Club"... You can see it when you look in through the windows, so they gotta ask themselves if they have time to try to get that off, or just move on?

I think HRT hit the nail on the head. if they want it bad enough, its theirs. I have a shut off on my sump, so itll only run for a little bit until it sucks the fuel out of hte lines and filters. Kill power to the ecm, ficm, idm etc. Put the back door handles on that have no key hole. Put a loud alarm on it that pages. Just try to make it hard enough to steel theyll move on to one thats easier.

We have a Rollback wrecker with a 14k lb hydraulic wench, NOTHING will stop that from getting a superduty. Like mentioned above cut the wheel one way, put it in 4low and left in gear, and set the ebrake. Itll at least make them have to lift it to be wheel dollies under it and make all kinds of racket when its going up on the bed.

I like Matts idea about the grenade. after my 06 was stolen i thought of being able to arm the airbags to a sensor where if its stolen, i could call in an airbag deployment right into someones face. Prob is im pretty sure thats pre meditated lol. I bet thatd be the last truck that theif stole tho haha.

Hooking up a huge capacitor that would shock the hell out of them a couple times when they go to pop the locks might work too.

Just have really really really big capacitors...zap em real good.

Just follow that nice armoured cable to it's end to show you which wires are needed to make the truck run. And if they're already in the truck they have full access under the hood.

Dave

Not necessarily. I haven't seen any recently - but in the past I have seen locking hood latches - just another level of frustration to get them to move on - or destroy ****.... My '79 Ford has an old internal hood pop latch that is lockable - I don't have the key, but I will get that corrected. I've also seen them for late model Jeeps (latches on the outside of the hood).

In all honesty...If I had the correct coverage on my truck...for the full valued amount...I would care less if I ever saw the truck ever again.

Getting it back, in the condition it is in, and now dealing with the insurance company...HORRIBLE Experience.

Like mentioned before by someone else...getting a cheque for the full amount would be way better.

kinda just skimmed through this thread, but. how can they start the trucks if we have these chipped keys? unless they really are that useless. because when my ranger was broken into and they tried to start it, the check engine light was on and it said vehicle theft recognized vehicle immobilized.
