I just looked on the web and not Tapatalk and he has a 7.3... must have gotten confused.

I have never had surge with mine even towing the big 5th wheel

If you want to make it do it (idk what you would) but put it in 4x4 and go to do a boosted launch. Instead of launching just let off the throttle.... it should do it then.
Only do it if you dont mind beating your truck though....

I'd consider that to be bark, not surge.

I'm plenty familiar with surge from my Excursion. If driving my mountain road and the truck doesn't down shift on some of the slow uphill corners and I roll into the throttle it surges. Worse than my Excursion did.

Thats messed up. But I guess I have the stock air box intact and can barely hear the turbo.

I had terrible turbo surge under light throttle (what I would call oscillation) when I ran the KEM tunes. I did apply more pressure to the spring, but that did nothing. Getting rid of the KEM tunes fixed it for me.

Sounds like the mods need to move this surge issue stuff into its own thread... id like to keep reading about it but no need to muck up this thread anymore.
