So with compression within specs, and you said a new injector I wonder where the fuel knock was coming from that returned after the 1000 miles. Was it just knocking when cold?

How about some info, symptoms and issues. You said a fuel knock and what else? Was the relative compression normal? Would it only knock when warm, also why do you think a new injector masked the issue for 1000 miles? This is one of the first times I have seen you ask for help vs helping...

I know you didnt get to the compression test before you figured out the issue, but what did the relative compression test look like? Was 7 low?

My egr delete leaked as well, run your fingers on the bottom of the U-pipe that connects the intake to the oil cooler. Mine was leaking from the fitting in the intake manifold.

Yes, holds +60ish. Installed a blue spring when I did studs and I have a manual gauge tester. I haven't checked in a month or so, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try again just to see.

On the way home this evening, I decided to unplug the icp sensor and drive it home. Although it made more of a lope/knock, it did not tick. I know it's somehow oil related. Anyone know exactly what physically goes on with oil pressures when it has no icp logic?

Just a little update, I went ahead and pulled the valve cover off and ran the truck, just to check for blow buy or an audible pop from the intake side. When I pulled the valve cover off, I found nothing, no cylinders acting any different than the rest while running with the valve cover off...

So what actually supplies the rockers with out? The oil dribbling out of the injectors or from the push rods? I am having a similar issue. If the standpipe check valve was not supplying correct oil to the drives side head, I would assume oil leaching out of the injectors is what oils the rockers.

Mine has balls, runs great... Just ticking.. I have read about the tensioner making some noises when the bearing goes bad, also reAd the stc fitting can tap the hpo pump housing. Just trying to narrow it down and see if anyone has came across something similar.

Little bit more information, 87,000 miles t-6. Also noise seems to follow injectors. As in I can get under the boost and make the injectors chatter and speed the tick up with injector noise rather than engine RPM's.

Maybe 2000 miles ago studded the truck. New gaskets, heads shaved .08, new oil cooler, new ford pushrods and just installed some low mileage injectors. I have a tick when warm. No codes, no misfires, idles fine, drives fine. Tick seems to be coming from passenger side upper valve cover...

Don't forget the icp on the 05-07's on the passenger side valve cover vs. the 03-04 having them on the hpo pump. Also no crossover on the intake manifold on later years.

I'm no 6.4 pro, but don't factory pistons have laser etched numbers and letters?

Maybe possible they are not seated correctly, only way to find out is pull them, then pull the lower portion with some long pliers out, reconnect them outside the motor, then put them back in the rear ports of the oil rails.

Pop the dummy plugs out of the front just to make sure. Easy check, and easy mistake.
