Bad machine work? Maybe head surfacing equipment setup wrong?

Yea and the heads could have been torqued incorrectly in sequence or torque values. Shoddy work no matter which way you slice it. Although Jake thinking he is a racecar driver doesnt help.

Make sure you check the head and the block to make sure they are flat. Straight edge (a level works good in a pinch) and feeler gauges.

are you gonna figure out if your cam gear is walking prior to reassembly?

just fired her up. haven't stopped since I started yesterday. im going to bed. no I didnt get cam figured out. ill tare it down this winter...

this was the first time doing this on a 7.3.... even though there was only 7000ish miles on these gaskets, how easily should the heads and gaskets came off when I pulled it apart?
