I still don't understand why everyone has to have an insult in their post. Really shows the intellectual level on this forum.

So any sort of tuning device that alters emissions equipment is 100% Illegal to own?

There are acceptable parameters.

This forum has become pointless with arrogant people.
And are you that naive that you can't read the previous comments to realize I didn't say i wanted a refund? He said HS and Edge took the money and ran just like PIP but they did not. They got busted, offered a recall and rebuilt. It was a ****ty comparison on his part.

PIP sent out the recall / buy back notice a month ago . send yours back and be done with it .

It's not illegal to ownIf it's for off-road use only. So, if you trailer your $60k truck to and from off-road trails. You are perfectly legal.

Not to be a dick, but if "off road use only" applies, why do we have to deal with the same emissions BS on construction and AG equipment? You know, the things that it's legal to burn "off road diesel" in?

Look up the RPM Act. If that doesn't pass then the EPA's position that it is illegal to convert a vehicle with a VIN for race use only stands.

Emissions vs road tax are two different things.

Man this all sucks. I blame TS.Performance

Hopefully the EPA gets off their high horse and goes running with their tail between their legs when Trump takes power.

Just read an article about how some Cummins powered dodge trucks are under the microscope for a situation similar to what VW did. So it's not just tuners it's large company's too.

They were here in Florida, story I got was they worked for S C T and left to start PIP. Honestly I never cared for their tuning. BUT what I heard was someone at another tuning company sent the EPA towards them. Seeing what has happened being involved in the business I come to learn the EPA doesn't do witch hunts, they're told where and what to look at.

Not entirely true. They had people on the ground in Texas going to every diesel shop here including several site sponsors and members shops. They were poking around and asking for shop records to see what they could find.

Because someone obviously said or sent them. They're not just gonna knock on your door asking if you sell ****** tuners. A web post, ad, pissed off person at a red light who got smoke in their hair all can cause a rise in interest.

Yea....someone sent them a list of every diesel shop in Texas. They visited a friends shop trying to snoop around and he's not even in the performance industry...strictly repairs.

I could believe that. Just like OSHA doesn't show up unless there's a fatality or they're given an anonymous complaint / tip.

OSHA makes site visits around here regularly. I deal with them often.
