    Intake plenum v bands

I've done a v-band on one side and maintained the boot on the other plenum for misalignment - it makes installing and securing the y pipe pretty easy.

How would you go about this?

I've done the washer trick, welded lots of nuts on, etc.... but I have no idea why it never occurred to me to use a pipe and stick welder for a bolt/stud down a hole. I have worked on a lot of antique tractors over the years and there are an awful lot of broken manifold bolts out there... lol...

I feel like I just added a new trick for my toolbox.

Detuning large injector nozzles - How to pick injector size for upgrades!

I'll gladly send you an excel form that will allow you to make identical graphs to those if you promise to fill them out entirely for both a hybrid 200% injector and an A-code 200% injector and post them up here for everyone to see. Then we can all be looking at graphs utilizing the same...

Detuning large injector nozzles - How to pick injector size for upgrades!

The biggest issue with the above is the pressure drop across the poppet is not taken into account - as ICP goes up or nozzle size increases the pressure drop across the nozzle poppet for the oil increases dramatically. It doesn't take long before that 5:1 hybrid actually has MORE fuel pressure...

How would you go about this?

I would not do the JB Weld thing mentioned. You will have a head with a bolt and stud epoxied into one piece. Left handed drill bit - if that doesn't work.... 1) keep driving it and pray or 2) pull the head so you can get something on the stud to back it out.

Tuning 101 - Thread Merged with Injector Posts

300s,400s, plus a host of custom drilled tips have been done. It takes roughly two bits to drill out the 7 holes in each nozzle tip (actually mill bits, but your just plunge cutting like a drill bit with them). I seem to recall it was like $5 a hole to get drilled... but I might be remembering...

    My tow pig/DD build thread. F350/Cummins 6.7/twins/6R140

I was most interested in the method he was going to use to sniff the canbus for data, interpret it, and then create a device that translated the necessary commands from one computer to the next to communicate via the canbus. While some data is transmitted via standardized command across all...

    UCC Results/Standings

I've known Lavon for years and he really is a class act surrounded by good honest hard working friends and family that allow it to all happen. Its been awesome seeing that fledgling business grow from building transmissions in the old milk house at an old dairy farm to the powerhouse that it is...

    Is a transmission swap possible

I'd sell the adapter, flex plate, and a brand new gear reduction starter to make it all work for $1000. I have WAY more than that in the parts, but I have no plans on using these any time soon and I need to clean out the shop for more important projects.

    Is a transmission swap possible

I imagine most people doing transmission swaps are high powered and looking to go fast. An Allison will not be as fast as a 4R100 when it comes to racing applications. For a DD type truck or one towing frequently an Allison is a good choice - but those are least likely to actually make an...

    Is a transmission swap possible

You could program a PCS or just use the transmission computer that normally runs them. They are normally controlled by their own computer instead of jointly controlled by the same computer running the engine like in our application. You just need to get the right signals to either the PCS or the...

    Why???

Cyclical stress caused fatigue until the an imperfection allowed a crack to form and repeated use opened it up. To minimize this type of failure it means you need to reinforce the block from flexing as much.... ie girdle, bedplate, filler, etc... You have to remember you have been running this...

    Is a transmission swap possible

It involves a lot of work - but I do have an adapter plate and flexplate to bolt an Allison 1000 from a Chevy Duramax to a 7.3. I purchased the components for a project that never came to fruition.

    Resonator placement

When I install a resonator - I do it upstream of the muffler. My Dmax has both a resonator and a muffler on it - no drone at all with a 7" stack.

    I am struggling need help

You most likely have a cracked/broken injector tip, bad copper, bad o-rings, etc..... I would also assume that you have a pronounced fuel knock from the engine while running. Good thing you have rags on hand, in turbo, or whatever.

Played on the dyno some this weekend.

Very excited about this. I can only marvel at the distance you have taken that truck. I remember when it still had DIY sticks, an HPOP that wouldn't make pressure and couldn't keep up on the interstate coming back from TS. Now it makes enough ponies to make any 7.3 guy drool and is reliable...
