    cylinder contribution test

Puking fuel out the exhaust would lead me to believe a hurt cylinder, which you’ve ruled out, or a stuck open injector. If you cancel injectors, do any of them make the smoke go away or diminish? Can you watch short term fuel trims? One that’s puking fuel will be way off from the other cylinders...

2004 F250 KR Fuel Gauge reading empty and ambient air temp 20 degrees low

I’ve done that tsb 100 times, it’s probably worked twice. I do t remember the part about the additive, but the reprogram has never worked. Back when they were under warranty, used to do the program and tell the customer I’d see them in a month or so to replace the sender Sent from my iPhone...

2004 F250 KR Fuel Gauge reading empty and ambient air temp 20 degrees low

So what happens to these senders is they get crap built up on the resistor card or some rust buildup or other stuff, so sometimes it’ll read right, and others it won’t. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

2004 F250 KR Fuel Gauge reading empty and ambient air temp 20 degrees low

6.0 fuel senders are known for being pieces of shit. Put a new sender in it for that issue. The overhead console reading a low temp is one I haven’t run into a bunch, it’s not in Celsius or something stupid like that by accident is it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    2011 6.7 F350 P0272 and a pop with smoke

Is it an early one? Could have cracked a valve/broke a glow plug and had a slight exhaust leak you hadn’t noticed as it wasn’t puking smoke out of it till now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    2015 6.7 code P1552

Even without forscan, a snap on scanner to reprogram iqa is no where near 10k unless you count all the updates you need to perform in around a 5 yr time frame. My snap on scanner cost 2500, and it’s around 500 every 6-8 months for updates. I’ve got ids for fords, but the boss man has some other...

    ISSUES WITH CHOATES WARRANTY

I agree with Sootie, he’s been around awhile. I’ve worked on 1 or 2 six fours in my life, and agree 300k is typically a pipe dream… and if the bottom end makes it that far, you’ll probably go thru 10 fuel systems, making it not worth the time or effort Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

6.0 Fuel pressure question causing no start?

Do you have a power probe? Put jumper wires between the 2 pins at the ckp/cmp sensors, send power down 1 wire from pcm, the other wire, tie a headlamp incandescent bulb into it to ground. Send power down one wire and make sure the bulb lights up bright. While it is lit up, wiggle the wiring...

6.0 Fuel pressure question causing no start?

So if 3 buzz, and the other 5 are a nice solid click, I’d say there is probably an issue with those 3 or the FICM, but as bismic said, I don’t think 3 injectors having an issue would cause the no start, unless it was in the FICM. Try unplugging the 3 that buzzed and see what happens. Sent...

6.0 Fuel pressure question causing no start?

Not sure how what software you’re using does the buzz test, but typically it will batch fire the injectors, like if you had just turned the key on, then each one clicks in cylinder number order. Typically a good injector has a solid/sharp click, sometimes there will be a dull/muted click, which...

6.0 Fuel pressure question causing no start?

I’m leaning towards you may need to get an oscilloscope on it. Verify everything looks good on that. Could still be ckp wiring though. Well shit, bismic beat me to it. Guess I should’ve kept scrolling down… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

6.0 Fuel pressure question causing no start?

If I remember right though, and it doesn’t say it in the pinpoint test, is that the cmp gets its voltage from the ckp thru the pcm Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

6.0 Fuel pressure question causing no start?

Another thing I may have missed, and if so, I apologize. Are there any codes? I’m assuming a 314/316 codes as those tend to set from extended cranking, whether there is a problem with the cam or crank sensors or not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

6.0 Fuel pressure question causing no start?

Ok, so this seems like it’s an odd one. What is fuel pressure while cranking? You said it dropped off after letting it set, but the pump should turn back on while cranking. Also, what is FICM voltage, all 3 voltages, 2 should be battery voltage and one should be 48ish. We’ve got icp, and...

    Full Boost???

Check your ebp reading key on engine off. Compare it to map and bark, it should be fairly close to both the other readings. Ford’s spec is within 1.5psi, but typically it’s much closer than that, like within .5psi Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
