May need to move ficm. I have not yet gotten to that point. If necessary I will due so by purchasing pigtail connectors and splicing and moving it only as far as necessary. Same goes with the coolant bottle. From looking at it as I have, it will all be very close, but it is hard to tell untill things start going together.

Thanks Morgan.

I should mention that I am at the point now where I am ready to start the build as far as parts are concerned. I am holding out for a few reasons though 1) I am still working on the actuation electronics 2) I am busier than hell with work and need my wheels 3) my buddy's shop where this will likely all be done is a bit cluttered right now while he finishes putting together my business partners jeep and does his HG's on his truck.

Doesn't the E-series incorporate the FICM harness into the engine harness, instead of separate like our trucks do?

I am going to seperate the ficm harness out of the main harness.... it will make it alot easier to adapt to the F series engines.... The E series engines all have alot of extra accesseries that the F series doesnt have.... this is the best way to make the Ficm relocation work using the E series harness....

I'm not positive, so take this with a grain of salt... but didn't BPD look at possibly moving the FICM before they came out with their new design... does anyone remember why they opted NOT to do that? I thought I had read they were concerned with a few things extending the harness and moving the FICM from it's current location? Anyone recall anything on that?

IIRC, the reason they opted not to move the FICm was because that does not actually fix the issues with the FICM. Heat and Vibration are only a small part of the reason the FICMs fail.

alot of the interest I have recieved about the harnessess is due to wanting to add turbos and moving the ficm just for that reason... my harnessess will come with the E-series FICM mount as well.... they look like an envelope and mount over on the drivers side fender....

SAEBEE,

Yes I will be fabricating a pedestal for the turbo's.

If the E series setup its as easy as soldiering all the wires in, then I will likely be doing this just to neaten things up in the engine bay.

Makes sense...

Any pictures of such a setup installed? With the amount of FICM's I swap in and out, it may be worth my trouble anyways...
