Anyone know the best place to buy a reasonably priced IDM?
I know heavydoc had offered to lend me one for testing but by the time shipping was paid,
I'd just rather go with a reman that has a warranty.
Worst case Ill have a good IDM to send to swamps.

Most of the retailers are $$$$$. I have had good luck in the classifieds here or the other forums. Just make sure the seller is a longtime/veteran member. Here's one http://powerstrokearmy.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72263

If there were only a guy on this forum who knew how to root cause through advanced analysis. Like he does on 40 million dollar turbines, and constantly offers to help members.

Couple things you may try cause I have personally experienced these.
1. Unplug the exhaust back pressure sensor they can short out cause similar issue, especially since you had a code
2. Unhook power wire from alternator as it can back feed through the harness and wreak havoc.
3. Even though the injectors have been gone through, there could be a bad solenoid that is shorting out the harness, you didn't have the problem before with the old ones but do now so id definitely check there. I do find it odd you were told the armature plate was hitting on several, because I had one come loose once, causing it to hit the solenoid and it wasn't firing that injector and set a check engine light.

Know that you mentioned it I had one about 10 years ago not starting because the alternator shorted internally causing it not to start.

You could have pinched an uvch wire betwee. the head and valve cover, although i realize that doesn't explain the rest, its possible.

A pinched wire in the uvch will throw a low resistance code during the solenoid buzz test using ae.

Not yet.
Just received my new IDM, ICP pigtail, all UVCH pigtails and new ICP sensor.
Ohmed the UVCHs and checked out fine.
But I'm going to Faster Horses this weekend so no time for the truck.
I'll update soon.

Finally had a few minutes at home to work on the truck.
Found this.

Looks like I have a glow plug connector problem.
Was not like this before I put the injectors and GPs in at the same time.
Good thing I have a new IDM, ICP sensor, IPR pigtail and all four UVCH pigtails.
Time to get soldering.

I have another good oem UVCH gasket laying around here somewhere...
Going to ohm out the GPs as well.
They are brand new from fleabay.
If this all was a GP short I'm going to lose my mind.

Burnt part on the glowplug pin shouldn't keep the engjne from starting unless it shorted into the injector pin

The problem was it starts and immediately dies.
It may still be the IDM but I have a new one installed right now and once I finish soldering all these new connectors in I will find out.

It does not look terrible as I have seen completely melted connectors,
however maybe it shorted internally as both pins look shirty.
