i think I got one of the purple ones and it was bad right from the get go.. like it fired up once and ran for like 10min then died and that was the end of that one.. swapped it out and it was fine..

Went to Advance auto and got a BWD sensor. Try that.

When the CPS pigtail falls to the ground after unplugging it from the sensor, thats not a good sign. Belt caught it

Actually, its a great sign. It means the motor does not have to come back apart.

Still want to know what is causing the cel. Probably need to swap the engine harness. I spliced the CPS pigtail but didn't start. Dont know what else was damaged to harness.

did you crimp or soldier it back together? didnt add wire did you?

they work off resistance. everything has to be equal size and its best to soldier

its a hall effect sensor. as delivered it has crimps in the system, and connections in a few spots. IMO it will give zero fks how you connect it.
