Yeah its pretty clear on the dyno it has no more room for that much fuel, thats why the power falls off.

I want to see exactly where it falls off thats why im going to run 1.7 1.8 1.9 and 2.1 and narrow it down some

Sweet, I cant wait to see what more testing shows. With a minimaxx can you pretty much make the adjustments in the tuning and use the 4 settings on the minimaxx to change the pw rather quickly on the dyno? Or is there more to it in the tuning?

Dustin I've never messed with it because Eric tunes my truck, but I've noticed with my MPD 60% nozzles when my truck high idles to 5700psi rp compared to normal 5000psi give or take it completely stops hazing. My question is can you up rp and not mess with rpms?

yeah that's totally changeable without changing idle speed

Also right now I'm running a 2.2 or 2.3 pw tune. You think the 2.0 pw I have would make more power? 60% nozzles and a single 472...

if the smoke never clears I would be willing to bet 2.0 would net more power

Yes you are 100% correct there isn't much that changes other than pw

I agree, i would be willing to bet that the mpd nozzles flow more than 100%

The nozzles are brand new 100% the same as in my pull truck. Doesn't matter who you buy them from. The 100% 6-hole brand new nozzles are only made by one company. So the only other way to get 100% 6-holes are by extrude honing stock nozzles to 100% over stock.

This was not meat to bash, but inform that the mpd nozzles are the same as the ones several other companies sell...... So that we don't have to have an mpd 100% vs rcd, Rudy's or Midwest 100% thread. The new 100%'s have proven to be a very good, reliable nozzle.

And by that I meant, they flow the same as all 100% new nozzles flow. Extrude hone or 8 hole nozzles may be different.

Was the loss on the 2.2pw just from too much fuel? It makes me wonder how many people that run large nozzles could benefit from pulling some pw back.

Very interesting results, esp considering debates on 6 vs 8 hole. A cc comparison would be a great idea.

I've pulled lots of PW out of my pulling truck and every time I do it keeps getting better. There is such a thing as too much fuel. But it runs smooth as silk @5500 rpms with those nozzles

Awesome test! Very interested to see what happens with you start breaking down the pulse width to 1.7-1.8 1.9 and 2.1 pw and seeing exactly where peak hp is and when it starts to over fuel and loose power.

Going to try this with my truck as well as seeing how the rcd cam does in higher rpms

i think even if they went on a bench and flowed equal, they would each have their own strengths. obviously the mpd/others nozzle has more low end flow, which may create more heat and smoke but more top end power. injection angle, spray pattern, and atomiztation are all very relative in the discussion. the elite nozzle very well could be a lot less smokey down low.
