i think even if they went on a bench and flowed equal, they would each have their own strengths. obviously the mpd/others nozzle has more low end flow, which may create more heat and smoke but more top end power. injection angle, spray pattern, and atomiztation are all very relative in the discussion. the elite nozzle very well could be a lot less smokey down low.

Exactly. There are pros and cons to both. But there is a lot more to it than just volume of fuel.

If anybody feels like loaning me a nozzle from either setup, I'll have them flowed at my cost, so long as I get both styles at equivalent levels, return the nozzles to their owners, and post the results for everybody to see. Thanks for the testing dustin. Send me a pm if any of you have something I can work with. Morgan, and Dustin? Who would we want to do the testing. I have a couple companies in mind, but would like input as to where it's done if there are enough willing parties.

Come to think of it, while I'm doing it, one of several popular sizes from each style would be great to do in a controlled environment. If I can get the nozzles for the test, I'll include all info I can. As Mike stated, max power isn't everything, but it sure is something. I think a nozzle shootout thread would be awesome, and could include "haze at idle" vids, data such as dustin's, etc.

200hp is quite a bit I dont care if its all about max hp or not lol. Dustin should just supply the nozzles from each party and have them them flowed to be a true test I think.

He should just have them flowed himself since he's a third party.

I am a 3rd party, but some may consider my friendship with some of the people with elite, and past differences with the guys at mpd enough reason that I would some how influence a company testing them to provide biased results. If somebody else wants to do it, I don't care. That will save me the hassle, time, and money. I just want the results.

Maybe one of you guys who suggested someone besides me could step up to the plate. It's not like I have a flow bench. I would have them sent directly to the tester of choice. In case any of you forgot, quite a few different companies offer non-elite nozzles, and they're all sourced from the same manufacturer.

Not only that, but my differences with MPD are a thing of the past, and would be even if I still worked at elite. To my knowledge, the problems I had stopped a long time ago. They have produced a lot of great parts that are not copies of other companies, pioneered a lot of power stroke parts, pushed the envelope for all of us to benefit from, and have earned a lot of respect as a result.

If Tadd wants to send some nozzles I will match him on size with what I have. We can both send them to an outside party such as Exergy and have the results sent to us and you Wayne.

Settle down wayne its going to be tested anyway 3 different ways.

This was never intended to start a pissing match. And I suppose one of the 200s from my truck could be tested but im not pulling another injector to send it off

Don't worry buddy, Mike D has a set at Exergy and me and Tadd are both sending a nozzle there to be tested.

You had the idea so props to you! Mike just got a jump on it.

just one size, or multiple??

as of now 2 sizes. we wanna find the closest lpm matching nozzle to a 100% or 200-250 nozzle. balancing the injector body for a control and go from there. i was already en route to do some testing and this just happened to go down during the same time. i have been planning on trying a different injector for a while now.
