How's every ones 6.4 stock tranny holdin up?

i seem to have bad luck. anything over 40% throttle i get a massive rev slam on the 3-4 shift. squirts trans fluid out the breather and pan gasket. has dd solenoid installed. it started acting up on the test drive when the build was complete. i dont think the clutches are smoked i think something has failed mechanically but i know nothing about transmissions.
anyways-i cant afford a trans right now regardless. only 86k miles on it. tuned for not even a month.

You can actually put a pressure gauge in line... Then you could check it while you are driving. Make sure you have good pressure between shifts, etc.

Mine has done the rev slam 3-4 times over the past year and a half, and I have noticed fluid around my pan. Could this be from the slam? I was thinking I needed a new gasket?

Edit: The rev slams always happen when I get out of the throttle for a turn and get back in it going around 30mph. I usually catch it before the rpms get up very high so it isn't too harsh.

I doubt it. Mine did that way back when I was running KEM tuning. New tuning now and it has never done it again.

Yea I would love to run mcc tuning, but I don't want to have to buy an H&S off road tuner and the mcc license after spending the money on the spartan.

i am running the MCC tunes from Gearhead as well. JD are you having the issue where if you are cruising at 60+mph and make it downshift the TC wont lock in 4th?

No sir... but I have gearhead's tunes on a livewire. That's odd though, I haven't heard of that.

Sootie- Mine does also, Matt emailed me saying it was a limitation in software and to check back end of the month for any updates. Anyhow I get fluid here and there if I running the girl good. I replaced gasket and then realized I overfilled the dumb thing lol. So I just wash the excess off when I wash truck if need be. Otherwise I'm not concerned and its been holding just fine knock on wood... Well besides the pucker up converter unlock won't lock then lock episodes.

i am running the MCC tunes from Gearhead as well. JD are you having the issue where if you are cruising at 60+mph and make it downshift the TC wont lock in 4th?

i was talk to matt a few weeks ago, he was asking if my truck was doing it and my truck isnt and he said he gave me a new tranny file so i think hes gunna go with the new trans file he made up

i cant wait then.

i just talked to him today and he didnt have anything to offer me at this point. mine is a Job 3 though-i dont know if that makes a difference.

Trans lasted about 8k miles after it was tuned, it never shifted correctly when at wot and when I drove it down to MPD for the build I lost 5th and reverse on the way down. Pretty sure it had a hard 80000 miles before I bought it.

Craig tunes on MCC as well. His trans tunes shift NICE! H&S shifts better than SCT for some reason.

Had my truck at the track. Trans shifted perfect! Even on really hard launches. Traction bars made the trans seem like a different animal!
