If you have 3.73 gears 3rd low will be way to slow. 1 high ftw. You can only run 3rd low if you have 3.55 gears and be competitive. Most of the trucks I setup that have a 5r I go with 4.10 and run 1st high. That makes for 12.7 final reduction. And the 3.73 is 11.5 final. 3rd low and 3.55 is 14.9 final. 11.5 is pretty steep unless you have big hp. I would reccomend smaller tires like 32-33" for the 11.5 final.

And I reccomend the dual shocks unless you want to spend more money. Just a hint, you still need to have good shocks even with the 4-link because they will still hop. It's all in the shocks, the radius arms work fine. I'm using stock radius arms on my 2.6 fully built pulling truck.

Depending on tire size, my truck with 3.73's pulls much better in 3rd and low.... the converter won't lock in first, and torque multiplication is better in third.

Yeah like I said 1st hi 3.73 is pretty steep gear. I don't recommend 1st hight unless you have 4.10's

Btw 3rd low 3.73 is 15.7 final ...... Way slower wheel speed. There's just no real in-between gears that's good for sled pulling and cruising on the highway.

You might be ok with the shorter tire, going high first with that kind of power. I can say that low range would not be an option.

Who is building these tunes?

RCD, KEM, Gearhead all for sure because I've ran them & I think innovative can tune a lock in first too. From what I understand they just set the converter lock to 20mph regardless of what gear it's in. You can ask for a different lockup speed too but they are not something to drive on the road.

Planning on pulling with the 250 at Aarons next month, Jared, Ben said he had dibs on running my rig down the track first, but I actually have my back seats in there, so, we can all get in.... LOL

I've had the best luck in 4hi and 1st seams like the best wheel speed.

Decent luck with 4lo and 3rd but always felt I could grab another gear but most of the time it would double shift into overdrive and kill it.

Ben@rudys is probably the dude to talk to imho
