The bottom is a thru bolt. No spacers it is bolted thru the radius arm. Then after tightening the bolt on the radius arm the the shock goes on the excess threads sticking out. Basically using the first nut to keep it solid in the radius arm and then the second is a locknut that holds the shock on the protruding stud. but I have just welded a stud on before.

Thanks a lot sledpull! I was really thinking about getting a 4-link this spring to go pulling locally, But i just might do the twin shock deal. I really hope it works that would save me some $$$ for more power! And im assuming that air pressure is a big thing too. Either way i think i have some homework to do before i hook mine up!

Yeah that will work. The dual shock though I recommend using an adjustable shock like a rancho 9000 for the ability to turn them down when not pulling. Otherwise they ride like a log wagon on the road. And like I said even the four link required one good shock per side as it is. If you put stock shocks on a 4-link it will hop. And tire pressure doesn't seem to matter as much once the dual shocks are in. One guy around here never airs down because he can't drive it home without airing it back up. He slipped a belt running low air pressure driving it home from a pull. So after that they run 80psi and it still doesn't hop hardly ever. They run one stock shock and one rancho per side, they are gonna run two this season.

Holy s*** 80* thats a lot! I was thinking somewhere around 40* to get a slight bit more bite and probably like 55*-60* in the rear. Anyhow thats awesome if that takes care of the hop! Im pretty stoked about doing this now!

So sledpull the actual nut that holds the through bolt on acts as spacer so the actual shock wont rub on the radius arm? Doesnt seem like it would work. Any specs on the bolts you used?

Its gonna be the same diameter as the oem shocks bottom stud. And for length measure the thickness of the radius arm where u want it mounted and add the width of the shock bushing, a regular nut and a lock nut. Just a guess...

I might make a bracket like the oem mount if possible. bad news though pretty much every local pull rules require a upward exit exhaust(stack). And has anyone ever pulled with terra grapplers? Hate the have to buy some bfg or duratracs when mine are still good lol

You are correct. The nut acts as a spacer. It works fine believe me I think the pictures I had illustrate that pretty well. If you zoom in you can see the nut behind the shock.

I pulled on terra grapplers all last season and they did alright but most of the tracks around me are a pretty hard clay compound. Im probably gonna go the Truxxus STS route this year

You can also wire up a lockup switch, i just did one in mine and it will lockup right out the hole if i wanted it to. I am planning on pulling this yea (god help me lol) but the plan is start in 2nd low and shift up to 3rd. Even though it didnt work to good for me in the dpc lol. No spray this time and i am going to try strapping the front end down and let her rip
