I love gearheads stuff, never had a problem and are faster for me. But I switch it up all the time between gearhead and idp. The x street seems to get the best milage.

On my truck so far the Gearhead Hot Street gets the best mileage. We got almost 18mpg with it going to TS last year running about 80mph. I just prefer how my truck reacts with the Xtreme X tune over anything.

Which innovative tune, race or x?
3.01 Xrace

To everyone that says that my race file doesn't have as much low end. Has someone actually run the two different files with a boosted launch and compared?

Yours feels stronger on the street, rolling burnouts are much more common in your Race tune BUT for whatever reason no matter how many times I've tried my Xrace was 1-2 tenths faster at the track.

couldnt be happier with my Gearhead tunes. Truck runs so well that I daily drive the same file that made 1k+ on fuel.
Very little smoke, great lockup and street manners.

Off topic but how is your truck coming along? Did you figure out what grenaded it?

Ran Innovative tunes for a year and a half on 2 different trucks and loved them. Ran like a stripped ass Ape.

Same here, I burned up the factory limited slip-clutch packs w/ in the first few weeks of getting the truck tuned.. but it was fun.

Overall I've had great service from IDP. The Ext-X is a perfect daily if you want no smoke at any cost, however the mileage isn't great for my vehicle.
I went back to the Xt-Street and I'm just careful w/ the pedal, and it gets me upwards of 18 mpg w/ a best of 24 mpg by hand. The trans shifting was solid and firm, and w/ the trac-bars things are smooth as silk.
IDP always returns my emails and modifies tunes to my liking when I want to try something new.

nope, but I havent really been pushing it since its getting a new short block.
Once its back, I will be highly motivated to sell it. 12 month/12k mile warranty and financing will be available with 35k down.

Back on track-just installed Gearheads tuning on an 05 excursion..
Couldn't be happier-shifts great and has GOBS of power! dont know how long the 175k mile trans will last tho

Customer service was awesome-Lars patiently answered my questions and Matt had me my tune by midnight the day i ordered it. Can't ask for better than that.

The 310 has more "low end" because its much more sensitive. That's what I HATED about that tune. I like how the IDP and Gearhead tunes come out of a redlight better, it doesn't make you look like an idiot going through parking lots and hitting a bump either.

Agreed! And I am dealing with the touchy trigger pedal, with no ankles..... My parking lot driving was rather embarrassing, until XTREME X was loaded up....

Just got a call from SCT yesterday saying they received my TSX to unlock it and update it. After reading and researching these 2 tunes I'm still 50/50 on which tune to run first. Decisions, decisions...

Ok so I've Benn doing alot of researching about these 2 tunes: gearheads race and idp extreme x. I'm a little confused, from the threads I've been reading these 2 tunes are very similar in hp ratings. Why in gearheads race tune does he recommend studs and idp's extreme x tune I was told via idp it'd be ok to drive with out studs or upgraded tranny as a daily driver? I mean needing studs and not needing studs is a pretty big deal...

You have a '08. If you have a heavy right foot, you need studs not matter what tune run rated over 200.

Yah that's just a matter of time before I install the studs considering I just received my ARPs in the mail. The thing is I just don't know when I'm going to get around to installing them, maybe next month when I find some time? But until then I wanted to run one of these 2 tunes because everyone raves about these files on the sct platform. I've been running Spartans and Kems 345 via my dash daq since day one and I dont want to purchase a tune from Matt or Eric that ill be stepping backwards in since I'm already rolling a "bigger" tune.

Popping a HG is good thing....it gives you a good excuse to make some upgrades. LOL
