Some more progess, 5" downpipe fits nicely, and has a billet v band off the turbo. Turbo mount, oil drain through the mount. Modified trans dip stick, and CCV.

Haha. Most piping is done. Everything has been and will be made with taking the cab and parts off quickly and easily in mind.. Stainless lines for the waste gates will be going on, a nice bracket to mount two fuel pressure regulators mounted to the drivers side valve covers. One regulator will be a single port coming from the fuel pumps and heads thatll go through a fuel cooler, the regulator that is regulating fuel into the hpfps will return directly to the fuel cell. All nice AN fittings. Heads should be. Coming off in the next day or two, sent out to get baked/cleaned, surfaced, checked for cracks and ported, depending on how the casting looks once the egr goop is cleaned out. The truck wasnt hurt or puking prior to the build so im hoping the heads look ok. All of the pipes are going to be polished, and compressor housings sent out tp be powdercoated silver/chrome.

Got some good news, heads were sent out. They were relatively flat with very minimal surfacing needed. No cracks!!!!! Which im very excited about. They were cleaned, and are now back at the shop and being ported. Valve springs from RCD will be installed as well.

cracks or no, might be a worth checking into hardened valve seats, to prevent future issues.

the cost of doing them now, compared to doing them later.....

i had $6XX in seats, seals and guides. then the machine work to put them in with a valve job.

To be honest im not too worried about it. Hopefully having the dpf off and getting the stock chargers that make such high back pressure will resolve some of the issues. I dont want to get too far into messing with these heads, esp since they are not remaned from ford and arent hurt. If I ever have issues then I guess itll have to happen. On the other hand, weve joked around about black trucks being cursed and always having cracked heads.... Hopefully this broke the pattern haha.

mines black, and every valve seat on both heads, except 2, was cracked.

i put hardened in it, as opposed to new heads, hoping i didnt fall back into that pattern. lol

they were able to machine my cracks out with the installation of hardened seats.

Some porting pictures.... The stock runners were pretty nasty and rough with extra metal from the casting in some of them, and as everyone knows how narrow the intake runners are...
