Do you mean Powerstroke Cowboy?02-03 7.3 auto PCM only.
What power-struck is talking about would be impossible to get done in my area.

lol. Why would it be impossible? No Ford stealerships?Yes. Sorry.
That blows. Is there any way to tell if it's fried or needs reflashed before spending the $$ on a tow? I could throw my PCM in there but I don't think it has the same code.
His is an '02 auto 4x4 mine is an '03 auto 4x4What year is your pickup? and what year is your friends pickup? If this has been asked sorry!! We just pulled it there on our trailer so that was not a problem. just a pain for such a easy fix!
Nice mistake cobra!! I to am interested why that would not work where you live?
Thanks for making the phone call so late on your side of the country!! I love PSA!! Best bunch of guys on the planet.Yes. Sorry.

Wow. Tony never told me that. I hate dealing with a stealership for the very reasons you mentioned. Again, thank you for taking time out of your weekend, late at night to make the phone call.Main reason would probably just be lack of willingness to work with you, lack of knowledgeable staff at the one, and that they would rather sell you the $1000 part then the cheaper fix.
Doc, I spoke with your buddy. He told me that a dealership near him sold him a 15* hpop to put on his 02 truck and told him they are all the same it would be fine. Reasons like that is why I say it would be tough to get them to do it. Trying to tell them that you have a potential fried pcm that you need to try a reflash on first, would only warrant me a bunch of "WTF" looks :morons:
I'll talk to him about it and see if we'll do it. It makes much more sense than towing it. It would take longer to wait on the tow truck than swap pcm's twice.Yours will work fine to test in his pickup.
The only shop local here is OC Diesel and I wouldn't take your truck there. LOLIs there a shop in your area DocBar that specialisms in Fords??? Other then ford dealership? We took the pickup to a private garage. It was closer then the dealership AND we do not trust our Dealership. I feel your pain cobra. I wish dealers would be their to serve not act like they know it all and we are the scum of the earth. We do have a good one out here in Circle MT though. about 3 hours away though!
You're a pro wire nut? THAT'S a stretch!!! LMAO...j/k. Welcome Tony!!!Hello all I'm the idiot that docbar was trying to help out...
I figured I'd join the forum that was helping with all the info.

Great bunch of guys on here that will help you out, regardless of the stupity of the act. Kinda like you helping out the "Prince of Darkness" on occasion.

Just a quick glance through parts/services was enough to warn me off of them. THEN socal guys started talking about them. They might be great for Cummins or Duramax but they don't know Powerstrokes for chit. With you saying that it must be true. That is to bad though!! I wish shops would have great customer service!!
Welcome aboard!!
You could also send you PCM the DP-Tuner, PHP (power hungry performance), Swamps, beans, and there are more to to have them re-flash it.
I know Jody@DP-Turner could flash the stock tune back in the PCM. IF it is not fried...
