That blows. Is there any way to tell if it's fried or needs reflashed before spending the $$ on a tow? I could throw my PCM in there but I don't think it has the same code.

What year is your pickup? and what year is your friends pickup? If this has been asked sorry!! We just pulled it there on our trailer so that was not a problem. just a pain for such a easy fix!

Nice mistake cobra!! I to am interested why that would not work where you live?

Main reason would probably just be lack of willingness to work with you, lack of knowledgeable staff at the one, and that they would rather sell you the $1000 part then the cheaper fix.

Doc, I spoke with your buddy. He told me that a dealership near him sold him a 15* hpop to put on his 02 truck and told him they are all the same it would be fine. Reasons like that is why I say it would be tough to get them to do it. Trying to tell them that you have a potential fried pcm that you need to try a reflash on first, would only warrant me a bunch of "WTF" looks :morons:

Wow. Tony never told me that. I hate dealing with a stealership for the very reasons you mentioned. Again, thank you for taking time out of your weekend, late at night to make the phone call.

We do have a good one out here in Circle MT though. about 3 hours away though!

Welcome aboard!!

You could also send you PCM the DP-Tuner, PHP (power hungry performance), Swamps, beans, and there are more to to have them re-flash it.

I know Jody@DP-Turner could flash the stock tune back in the PCM. IF it is not fried...

Just a quick glance through parts/services was enough to warn me off of them. THEN socal guys started talking about them. They might be great for Cummins or Duramax but they don't know Powerstrokes for chit.
