I have to give credit for Owen here (dbunyip) for welding my brackets onto my axle for me, he does amazing welds!

Look good man

I called up Riffraff Diesel Performance and got mine, very fast!!

I think these are what I'm going with. Where did you purchase your set from? OUO directly? I was thinking of going with PMF originally, but OUO looks like a better setup.

You're going to love them Wayne! They are masterpieces in them selves. You get black?

all this talk is getting me excited for when mine show up  I got the large gusset ones, but yeah, it was a cosmetics thing.

Anyone have a pic comparing the small and large gussets?
Just went out and took some quick pics of the difference between the two I have.
This is the long gusset on my 450

And this is the short gusset on my excursion

I can't exactly remember what I ordered LOL I believe it was 6" tapered traction blocks, 3/4" u-bolt kit, and brackets for my inside the frame air bags as I need to keep my B&W functional. Black powder coat, long gussets IIRC. I'm sure my memory will be a little more fresh when they show up:doh:. With any luck that will be tomorrow.

When i first saw them I wasn't too excited about them. But once I actually saw them in person I was sold. It is a very clean subtle nice look.

nick, these work very well while towing? thats my only concern with adding bars to my dually... im assuming they are fine since you put your 450 through the paces in whatever your doing with it?

Yes I would say so. Great upgrade for towing. That is where you get the most axle wrap. This is probably one of my favorite videos of these in action.

so you wouldn't be afraid to hook on to a 15,000lb fifth wheel and haul it 3500 miles cross country?

Not that easy. It's been hiding in the big red trailer, waiting for Tadd to assemble the engine. I sure can get pics when it's done though, or when we open up the trailer.

I've had around 30K lbs behind my truck so far with these bars and absolutely no issue. Like said before, if the bars are designed correctly you won't have that much force on the bars themselves. I've always ran my own bars on my trucks and Jared tried and tried to get me to buy a set of ouo. I finally did and it was the best money I've spent second to the ouo ala's.

good to know, thanks man...

there any install instructions anywhere? just trying to figure out how everything gets lined up... do you have to weld the mounts on the axle at a certain angle, attach bars, slide the adjustable part of the bars out to the frame that makes them parallel to the driveshaft and drill holes for frame mount, or are there specific measurements they give for everything?

you use bolt on mounts so no welding is required. Or you use a traction block set up.

the frame mounts are bolted on with 8 bolts per mount.

in the instructions it tells you to have a minimum of X amount of over lap with the adapable bars come together. I was told the longer the better. So i Put my bars together with the minimium over lap as stated and thats how long my bars are. They are around 80" if i remember right.

Dave doesnt have any instrctions on his web site, but ill see if i can find my instructions and scan and email them to you if you want to just read them. send me your email addy in a PM
