Looks like the OUO website has changed and instruction sheets aren't posted amymore.

Attached are the instruction sheets I downloaded when I got my bars over a year ago.

Fixed length bars.
Adjustable length bars
Rear axle mounts.

Their products may have changed so use them for reference until OUO can provide you with updated copies.

Those are some of the best instructions I have ever seen. Also shows the quality of the design on a different level. Very nice!

There have been a few threads about OUO bars lately and it got me thinking about my set so I had to go have a look at them again.

I just finished posting to a thread in the 6.7 section. Seems I'm the only one with any complaints about them. The design and packaging are great but i just don't see the quality.

Just my two cents one up is much higher than most others on suspension products. But their design and finish is what makes it what they are. On your situation it be cool if they swapped out the pieces that were chipped or scraped but being its gonna be mounted underneath the truck I'd just leave it as is and Install them.

Are these parts welded by person or machine? looking at the pics tensixniner linked, I would say by hand.

I can see where he would be disappointed. If those are powder coated, not the best quality. I myself would not care about the chips so much, but I can see where his concerns are

@ Wayne: Can I come meet you sometime so I can see these in person? Let me know when you get them installed. Thanks

I have the OUO large gusset adaptable length bolt on traction bars on my dually and love them. And they work fine when towing as well! Got mine from Truck Toyz.

For what it's worth I have short gusset bolt one on my f450. I use it to move hay and my pulling truck all across the country. Best mod yet, love that the shimmy from take off is gone with these!

Sure. Lemme get them installed, and you can have a look when ever you feel like

Thanks.

On a side note: Has anyone ever seen or heard of the adaptable bars breaking? I talked to a guy selling a set and he said that he has seen the adaptable ones break. The ones he is selling are the fixed length. I was just curious

Without starting a bashing contest - whats better about the OUO vs the PMF bars?
Just trying to make an informed buying decision - I had kind of decided on the PMF block / bar combo...
Looking for info to make the best decision - thanx!

I've never heard that. And seeing as how Dave's policy is you break it, I build it stronger, it's unlikely unless he physically broke them off another object, which is kind of an exception..

I do not know the details. I figure they did not use the min 8" overlap rule.

As far as the guy asking about the difference, they are 2 different designs. I think you are opening up a can of worms an will never get the answer you are looking for.
Anytime someone asks you just get a bunch of crap for answers and the ouo fanboys say theirs are the best and everything else is junk.
I know this to be total crap because traction bars have been around way longer than ouo with great results. I don't doubt that ouo makes a killer product, I just hate how their fans talk down on everyone else. There are different markets for different products, just the same as everything else in life.
I myself am trying to decide on ouo or pmf but I have not found a clear answer cause these threads always turn into a pissing match.
There is a guy in the 6.7 section that currently has the ouo but is trying pmf on his other truck, hopefully he will share some good info. I do not think any of the ouo fanboys have tried pmf. They just talk down on pmf without physical proof of pmf being inferior. They are also all close friends from what I gather.
I personally feel that noone should talk down on another company even if their product isnt of the same class. They should word it in a way that does not put the other guy down, how hard is that. As I said before, there are different markets for everyone. One last thing before I drag this out to far. I hear a lot that you get what you pay for. That is a crap statement. While this may be true in some situations, this is not always true.

I would wait to see what the guy that is going to use both ends up saying. Other than that, I think your out of luck

This is kind of like a dodge vs chevy, vs ford deal. Everyone has their opinion and there is no one clear winner

I have both OUO parts on my truck and PMF parts on my truck. I cant say from experience on the traction bars, that ones from one manufacturer is going to out perform the other. My opinion is OUO makes a product that is far better based on a fit and finish aspect/made to correct specifications.
