some photo updates, white salvage went to the painter this past week, front end getting repainted for a better color match, front two fenders getting minor body work, and paint, back of the cab getting painted, and the frame and chassis gets a shot of black also...hope to have the truck back in the next day or so and get the new bed mounted. Also picking up a new seat for the truck next weekend, and some custom covers shortly after that!

This thing is going to look awesome with that new bed on there. Have you considered any engine mods yet? Or just wait for "that time" to come (if it does)? I really like how this is turning out, definitely considering what it started as. Makes me want to get a similar project of my own LOL.

it certainly has come a long way, still has a ways to go. I have tossed around some engine mod ideas.....thought about putting the 205's from red truck in it, and maybe doing a 64 or 66, will most likley leave it stock for a little while, still haveing my jeep is whats holding me back on building this a little bit, but it will stay pretty mild for now, maybe just a tune or something.

a normal tailpipe looks sweet imo. a stack in a regular cab resonates REAL bad.

New bed looks real good on the truck, the body lines are a little different as i knew, but for the most part lines up great. THe pTM front end and rear bumper looks killer, now that the paint matches much better. I didnt put the tail lights in yet, i am going to put the red truck tail lights in this one, and the new style in my red truck. Truck will get a complete compound and wax on saturday, also still have in the works some ideas for tires, i already have the set of wheels for this one. and working on a new seat for inside as well. Its getting there!

Stack in a regular cab is obnoxious. Have a 4" dumped after the axle now

yea, i think i will prob end up leaving the side exit right now, red truck has the axle dump so i dont want to have that....just trying to decide right now to reverse level it, and do 420s, or level is and do 35s

Bed looks ok, the fender lines would really bother me though, other than that it is coming together great. Front end looks awesome!

I say leave single 4" exit, stock location, and also vote for the "reverse level" on 420s.

Mine is 2wd, but with shackles and spring clamps for 2.5-3" drop in the rear to level on 285/55R20s for reference.

How do you like the over axle dump on your red truck? Most of my other gas trucks have been done that way, but I was hesitant to do it on this one, didn't want to soot up the rear too much. I love the hidden "invisible exhaust" look of dumps, but even on my 01 2500HD 6.0 gas, tuned a little rich, the tailgate would speckle black if I went too long without washing, so that drove me away from doing a dump. It was 4" dumped with a 5" tip over the axle.

Mark, do you even drive the red truck enough to get it dirty!? Let alone, have the exhaust get it dirty!? LOL

I have a 4" to 6" over the axle dump and mine stays pretty clean. My truck dosnt smoke a lot though so that helps a lot. Iv never liked an exhaust more. Iv had the 4" out the back, a 4" side pipe, a 7" uni stack and this is by far the favorite.

i just had the exhaust on my shorty cut by about 5" to get it nice and tucked in. i've never really been a fan of the plain rear/exit but i think you can still make it look good.

The bed lines really dont look too bad, the back fender is obviously larger, but lines up for the most part, considering where this truck came...its perfect!

As far as the exhaust on the red truck, it doesnt get too bad under the back of the truck nothing that doesnt come right off when it gets washed. having the red truck as high as it is, i like the axle dump because you can see it.

Josh nah i certainly dont drive the red truck enough...but when i do....i drive the h*LL out of it so yea its gets a little messy.

i dont mind the simple rear exit, also maybe i will tuck the tip under the bed a little more.

I can say this the truck was on the road for the first time today...took it to work and runs great after a fresh oil change last night. Just have to burn the old fuel out of the tank...shell be running awesome.....
