Nope. That little needle bearing can be replaced by itself. I can't remember if it was in the parts store catalog/computer or if I just gave them the number off the bearing when I replaced mine. Real cheap for the bearing.

Got er done tonight. I started to loosen the line from Hydro to box and it started to twist. Luckily parts store brought a line right over.

The drag link came off Ok, I left the nut on a bit and hit it pretty hard with a mini sledge, didn't budge. I put the puller on and when I tightened the arms down or dropped right out.

Pitman arm literally fell off with box on the bench. The splines were completely FUBAR.

With the new pitman I had to adjust the drag several turns. I went too far now and wheel is a rad to the left.

But this thing steers amazing now.

Hopefully they dont deny you the core refund with splines messed up. Did you read the paperwork that came with it?

I think the shaft splines were ok, just pitman chewed up. I'll check when I get to work monday

And I didn't receive any paperwork with the box

I've seen a realize that and they all had loose nuts. Not sure how it happens though. You'd think the edges would get tore up before the middle. The output shaft is a harder metal than the pitman arm that's why the shaft isn't damaged.

Even with a loose nut. As hard as it is to get the pitman arm off I wouldn't think it would mess the splines up on either the shaft or the arm

Probably have 500 miles on since box change. Hands down money well spent. If you have any doubt, stop putting it off. Truck feels 100% tighter

Used my truck last week to haul a gooseneck trailer and tractor and remembered how bad my steering was. Finally bit the bullet and ordered a gearbox this week. It came today. Can't wait to get it installed.
