The obvious, unwanted truth. In certain cases a little drag created by tires of larger size is welcome but in this case a smaller displacement motor crippled by even less air and a huge drag/resistance load waiting to be overcome by the boost you cant effectively make to begin with.

I bet that setup would rip with stock turbos or a 59/72. If you have to run a single get an s362 and see what spoolup is with a single.

Does anyone around here run an s362 as a single on a 6.4?

I've been wanting to try a single because I like the sound and simplicity, all I want is same or slightly more power than stock, clean and cool, and good spool up.

I know most people want big cheap power when they swap to singles, less upsides when switching to a single when big power isn't the goal.

Just do an H&S kit then, I wouldn't do a 362 unless you use a turbine wheel bigger than the standard 68. Even then I doubt it will make more poser than the factory compounds wit ha 62.

Right, which is why I'll probably just end up with a 59/71 setup. I'm sure the h&s kit is very nice but no thanks on the price for me.

I didnt imply anything about even reaching stock, tuned power levels with a single. Why would it. A 366 is smaller than the atmo and larger than the primary. Thats why they spool like ***kin ****. You're snipping capability off both ends of the stock setup.

My buddy from Mizzurra had his singled and jesus christ, what a pig. S366. Had to ***kin mash it like a racecar to move enough heat to spool. Had to drive it like that and hope your target speed was above 65mph or it'd fall off boost in 5th.

If one of you guys would go throw 15k behind one of these and record it, Id love to see it. His was frustrating pulling an enclosed trailer. No thanks. He put an s362 on it was useful again but didnt do much at wot. But it wasnt a useless, hot, smoky turd anymore either.

Edit: he was seeing around 5lbs at 70. At road speed, it was a fight to keep it boiling.

This makes you sound like an idiot. Tuning must've been trash on that truck.

A 366 will outrun stock chargers all day everyday.

Tuning must have need tweaking.

Before I was seeing 3-5 psi 900-1100 degrees egts with "untweaked" compound setup tunes with a little more LBF.

I now have "tweaked" tunes taliored to this billet S366 setup. I now run 5-7 psi and 750-850 at 60.

Truck has 22's 35's 3.55's and 3 inch lift.

A 366 on a 6.4 with a stock converter would also be a nightmare.

Maybe not a nightmare but very far from optimal.

I guess it's quite a bit different if you're used to how quick the stockers spool.

Tuning is huge. Mine comes into boost 300 rpms sooner on gearhead vs innovative.

Only reason I know is I pretty much (on accident) went from a stock stall 6.0 converter to a converter with a stall similar to a 6.4 and it's making me sad.
