ok....for the last week or so, I've been trying to get this thing dialed in. With my original tune, this thing had some pretty serious lag.....like didn't build decent boost until 2300+rpm. once I gave it enough throttle, it would finally light and just go balls out but it was a real dog on the street. contacted eric and he tweaked my tune to hold the shifts and push TC lock up out until about 55 mph. the new tune definitely helped wake it up a little bit down low. he pulled some timing and increased PW to help with spool up which did help. lit a couple hundo rpm sooner. I still wasn't happy and started shopping for a new .70 t3 housing for the the HP. i gave matt at gearhead a shout and asked if he could write something for me before I spent several hundred more on a new housing and new uppipes. i popped his tune in this morning and holy hell...I don't know what he did but he completely woke this thing up. Spools GREAT down low for the .83 housing. 1800ish rpm gives me plenty of boost for city driving. if i get into about half throttle, it shoots past 20psi instantly and from there goes WAY past 40 psi just as fast. he's got a late lockup programed in for normal driving and under WOT, it locks in 2nd. it runs a little warmer since the fuel curve seems pretty aggressive down low to get it spooled but now I'm super stoked with this setup. easy city driving and pulls like a mofo on the top end. Matt K. got my transmission from Warren this week so we'll be putting it in sometime in the next couple of weeks or so. then I'll finally be able to WOT and really see what it can do. i'll definitely be making a trip down to College Station this fall/winter for a live tune sesh with matt. really excited about how this thing is running now!!

2005 CC FX4...a loud pipe thingy, a contraption that whistles, big fuel pumpers, things to hold my headgaskets in, lost that thing that keeps blowing up, big knobby tires, shiny wheels, glowy things, super fast computer programs, etc, etc.

you sir have an out of date sig :poke:

it's not bad at all....that was rolling into it kinda soft at first and then just about half throttle. i don't have any plans to change housings at this point. if i used this truck to tow or anything else i'd maybe go to a .70 t3 but i have plans for more fuel in the near future so it'll work out great.

this is just on a base tune from matt. i'll be heading down there this fall for a live dyno tune sesh to get it really dialed in. trust me....it's 10 times better than it was (lag wise) about a week ago. i get happier with this setup everyday!

That looked pretty good. I wouldn't want it building.boost much faster than that unless I was really getting into the throttle. I think it looked right. When you get a hair.more fuel that's going to be plenty of.a handful. My reason/preference is with how it is now because it'll build.boost steady enough to get a load moving and then boost comes on fairly hard. 40-50psi in 2as when trying to.get 12klb worth of tow moving leads to blowing off tires. I'm not saying that can't be fun!

What type of hp are you expecting if you were to guess? Do you think you would have any trouble towing with it?

I would hope somewhere between 640 and 700. not too sure on the towing... my pyro gauge can move pretty fast. I think the ideal setup for towing would have smaller turbos, something like it 62 over a s475.
