600hp was fun but boring. Going bigger!

My favorite for my Tikka, and I know this sounds stupid, is my Nikon Buckmaster 4-18 mil dot scope. It's matched absolutely perfect for that gun. Next would be the Burris Black Diamond. The problem though is at 32x it gets foggy. Something the Night Force doesn't do. But again I lose the cross hairs in the night force too quickly.

I've always had great luck with Burris on hunting guns.

Better luck with them than with leupold actually.

OK. Back to trucks.

Umm.... Not real sure what to say. I guess I'll have to buy a high volume oil pump. This was at almost full throttle on just a standard tune from Matt. Not a race tune or anything.

Does it have a Melling LPOP now? That is strange. I know Bob@dieselsite sells a HVLPOP

What is your ICP showing a IPR Duty cycle at? In order for the gauge to drop like that would mean the HPOP reservoir is not staying full. just thinking out loud here. And the funny thing is when it shift it goes back up, then goes down when your RPM are getting higher again. I would like to see what this is from. You do not even have compounds on there yet!! Do you have to add oil after running it a bit?

That is concerning, but I would like to see it on a mechanical gauge. If it was dropping oil pressure that much, wouldn't it also run like crap?

My van used to do that. With a mechanical gauge hooked up the oil pressure stayed good while the gauge on the dash dropped. Mechanical gauge was hooked up to port by oil filter.

Oil pressure down there would be better because there is oil there. BUT that was on a light run. IF he puts it on a file that calls for more fuel witch takes more oil he might have shutting off problems or stuttering. The reason the dash gauge is dropping is because the HPOP reservoir is not staying full. So an run where the Injectors need more oil the HPOP reservoir might not stay full. We are talking about oil eating injectors here.

I would look more into changing the oil pump with a higher flow one. There is a reason IH put the gauge up there.

I understand all that. And I had a melling with huge injectors and it still did it. Just saying that the engine itself is most likely not losing pressure, just the reservoir.

You just need an aux feed line to the top of the res... Heck, even dumping return oil from the IPR back in the res would probably help a lot..

Yes that would help. I would be scared to do the IPR thou. Might make it hard for the IPR to dump right if it meets resistance.

As far as the aux feed that would work great and has been done before. Would be one of the better routes to go.

You should tell that to all the guys running Terminator twins and Stealth billet pumps - because they pretty much all dump the IPR oil back to the reservoir to maintain pressure.

I would put a pressure gauge into the HPO reservoir where the sensor is.... as far as I know that "gauge" is nothing more than an idiot gauge - if the computer reads "good" the gauge says good. An aux feed line should help out if you don't have one.

Good to hear Jason. I knew that if I would say it the guys that have done it or have seen it done would point it out. Thanks again. Good information to hear and know.

Just goes against all I would have thought would work. So the IPR does not dump a lot of oil i guess. If it dumped a lot I would have thought it would hinder it. I guess not thou. Good to know. If need be i will just rought my IPR dump line to the HPOP reservoir.

One thing I noticed when that chines turbo started to light it had a nice wine to it. Then got more quite as it spooled. What do you think so far? How good does it clean up them sticks?

Have you tried a higher tune yet? Sounds like you got a good plan going to fix the problem.

Of course it doesn't clean em up. Lol! It's weird though. Once it hits 40psi it just sets there like I have a wastegate almost. It just...... stops going up.

For some reason 6psi is sticking in my mind as the pressure when the idiot gauge on the dash goes to "good."

I understand what you're saying, but what I'm getting at is it can be any psi. Anything 7-70 and it'll read good as long as the resivour is full.
