You need divided up pipes, I ran that piece of dog **** turbonetics adapter for about 3 hours and pulled it off. Its crazy how much of a difference they make. I couldn't even spool my 66 from a dead stop while holding the brakes with that adapter.

I threw my adaptor out after 3 failed attempts at the track to build boost at the light, they just flat out don't work when the truck isn't rolling.

I believe you guys, I'm sticking with the 66. I'm going to make some pipes when I have the cab off. I also plan on throwing a 2200 stall converter at it. Anyone try a quick spool valve before?

IMO I don't like them. They add complexity to the set up. They are huge! And they have a tendency to stick and if it sticks closed you will probably be out a turbo.

Message me if I can help you out with a set of my divided up pipes.

I wanted to go bigger turbo with bigger injectors eventually. I have a s475 with race cover and a precision 26x3.35 at the shop. It's a valve that goes in between the manifold and turbo that closes one side of the exhaust housing until a certain boost is made then opens the other side. I friend works for a guy who has a turbo foxbody that runs 9s and he recommended it to me.

I tried BD's diverter valve on my secondary.
After it seized in the closed position twice, sending drive pressure to the moon and back, I took it off, and made custom up pipes.

Drove my truck for the first time with CED up pipes and its night and day different, the way it spools makes the truck feel so much more powerful overall.. I can even get the turbo to make boost with the converter locked and only 17-1800 rpm. So much less smoke too. So glad I made the switch from the t3 Turbonetics pedestal.

Thanks for the update. I smoked my direct clutches in my trans again, I swear every time I switch tunes my trans takes a dump. I ordered an alto power pack with 6 clutches and steels with a nicer piston setup. I'm hoping it holds better than the suncoast does. Also had a 2200 stall triple disk show up at the door. A good friend just stole a precision gt4788(right) for $600 and wants to trade me his 2.6 clipped s475(left) for my s366. I'm going to make my own up pipes either way, but heavily leaning towards bolting down the 75 with them. I gotta say my trucks a blast to drive in limp mode, with only 1,2, and 4 the smoke is never there and spool up is great.

I had the Fmw 467.7, I'm moving up to a billet s475/87/.90 or 1.0

Mostly use the truck for pulling and drags but should still be streetable it you know how to drive it

Big cam and head porting should also help spool up

So you didn't like the way the 66 spooled on your truck, but are just going to bolt on a 75 now and see what happens? I know you're on the right track here by going with the divided up-pipes and the higher stall converter, but it seems like too many changes at once, IMO. Maybe try the 66 with the new up-pipes and converter first and decided if it's acceptable before going way bigger. I couldn't imagine trying to DD or tow anything with a single 75 on a 6.0. Not saying it can't be done, but you were already pretty unhappy going from the 68VGT to the 66 non VGT.
