I put the bore scope down in it and as far as I can tell, its weeping above the threads in the block but I can't decide whether its as high as the head gasket or below it.

so is it possible that the neck of the threads could crack it?

im pressurizing the coolant system right now trying to see exactly what leval is leaking. I can see it build up very slowly at tye top of the threads of the block but cant tell any further above that with the bore scope.

possibly a head gasket? I know golfer said cracked block but I would have figured it would have cracked at the threads of the block but its above them... somewhere...

Hmmmm?

I saw the link you sent me. Idk what the hell it is.

Seems that a gasket would be blown or the head is cracked.

WTF do you have going on there?

It obvious the leak is right there..... pull the head and look. It sure kind of looks like the gasket is smooshed out into the stud hole. Pull the head - if its just a gasket - great - if its a cracked block - then you will know.

The device he is using is to figure out if combustion gasses are entering the cooling system. If combustion gas is present in the cooling system, the fluid will change colour.
