Iv decided im staying stock on the fuel system due to funds and headaches. Which compound turbos would you all select for a good streetable DD? I will have HG's, studs and good LP system. Trying to go for the highest HP on stock fuel. Thanks to the army. Yall are great.

any upgraded atmo charger. 72, 71, 73, 75, 76mm paired with a ported intake manifold and no limit piping and no limit intake (bigrpowr on here) is the best bang for buck.

there is a used 72mm in the classifieds which is a steal.

Honestly, I think anything bigger than the 72 is overkill if you never plan to add fuel. That's what I'd do. And along with what he said^^ as well as maybe some exhaust manifolds like the bd ones and upgraded up pipes

Sent from a Cummins plant, driving a TDI, wishing it was a Powerstroke

I do plan on some 6.0 manifolds and darkhorse uppipes. So keep the stock vgt turbo and just upgrade the atmo? My stock turbos have 230K on them?

so a 76 will make more power over a 72? But a 72 will spool the HP turbo faster?

the hp spools before the atmosphere.
the bigger the atmo charger, the more lag there is.
the bigger the atmo charger, the harder it will pull up top.

i dont know how much you're wanting to spend but ive heard high power turbos are legit with stock fuel...i also dont now if the cost outweighs the benefits or throwing on an atmo

Per funds allowing, the consensus for srock fuel seem to go something like this (key word something lol) :

- high powers
- high power jrs
- RCD 75/59
- 72/59 RCD, elite
- 73/59
- 71/59 Elite, RCD, industrial and others
---------------
- then probably the same rough order for just adding an Atmo -20/40 hp less keeping factory vgt.

I haven't got my gate quite dialed in yet but I still max out the factory epb sensor. A gate is a good idea.

I agree it would be a good idea I just dont know how needed it really is.

The way I understood it was that there was a risk of floating valves and cracking uppipes on stock components. You and I have upgrades in both those areas though.

What I think the real deal is, is that you may be sacrificing power by having the ebp creep up too high.

What is your boost/ebp ratio? Im guessing little over 1:1?
