Why don't you just change the trans tuning? That's what I did with my larger housing and it was great. Ran 5th til 74 mph and it was nice and happy. It got 1mpg better too.
kinda like a tow tune where it holds it in gear a lil longer?

live life full throttle

Matt lived tuned this setup and my gears are strung out. It's perfect but my EGTs are a little higher than I like......So gear change....

So when does the turbo spool up? And what gears and tires you have now?

And what will the real deal benefits be of the 3.73 over 4.10, and vice versa? Which are recommended for what you intend to do with your truck?

3.55 and 35's turbo lites at 1700+-. Crusing at 75 in 6th rpms at 1600, egts at 900+ on flat ground. I usually lock 6th and egts drop 200* in 5th at 2200rpm .........I would love to cruise in 6th at 75mph @ 2000rpm, keep egts in check and get better mileage........Hope this makes sence....

So the 3.73 rear will do that? I hear that a lot of guys in our shoes are choosing the 3.73. I guess time and research will be our next step guidance..

3:31's, 33's and the 68vgt I would cruise 8-900*. Changed to 3:73's and it went to 7-800*, went to the 66vgt and dropped to 5-600* cruising. I love the 3:73's with 33' tires. I almost wish I did 4:10's. With 3:73's and 33' I am 2000@75mph. I would strongly consider 4:10's on the heavy 35' tires. Makes it a whole different truck for sure.

Would the 4.10 be preferential over 3.73 for Gary's truck (since I am doing the same setup) and would they benefit for all around performance and every day driving?

Ok, so what about top end with the either the 3.73 or the 4.10's and will either sacrifice drivability in any major ways?? When you say "whole different.." does that imply that the truck will wake up in every aspect of performance?

all you ladies so far behind ! i liked my 3:73's with 35's , drove great. even better with 32's . i think the 3:73 is a much more flexible gear ratio .

Yeah Mike, I believe it. Based on a ride in one and the input I have gotten I might be going 3.73...

You guys can kick my thread off (link above) and we can get going on issues there.
