Get exhaust and get rid of the cat and dpf, either a full exhaust system or you can get a pipe to just get rid of cat/dpf. Get a tuner, for one, to be able to run no emissions stuff and two itll give ya a boost in power. A intake system will help ya out too, but depending on your goals its not entirely necessary.

I am looking real hard into trading in my 6.0 for a 2009 6.4 with 55,000 miles on it.
I know the simple add-on stuff like CAI, straight pipe, & tuning. But the truck still is under warranty so would straight piping it and doing an egr delete void the warranty? or could i just block off the egr until the warranty goes out and can fully delete it?

some dealers will void your warranty for putting an aftermarket CAI on, some will look past your mods and help you out. just depends

i'd do the dpf delete. you can always tune it back to stock and put the factory exhaust back on if you need to go to the dealer (what a lot of people do) but i'm a fan of you reap what you sew and just got my truck fixed at a diesel shop when things went bad due to my mods

true true.. sounds smart to me anyways haha. dpf delete and get some tuning from matt and just go from there until the warranty goes away then i can go crazy! this is going to drive me crazy though.. everything i own doesnt stay stock for long at all.

Alright fellas.
I am looking into trading in my 6.0 for a 2009 6.4 with 53,000 miles on it. Looks like it is in great shape with just two little dents on the back bumper. But the thing thats making me kinda not feel so lenient towards it is that its been in the shop twice. once at 46,000 and got the radiator fixed, rad hoses replaced, and coolant res replaced. And then at 50,000 it got the radiator fixed again and a cylinder head gasket replaced.
What do yall think about that?

thanks guys! Guess I gotta buy some shiny stuff from No Limit now to go along with it :poke:

BOHICA as far as the radiators go that is a pretty common problem on the 6.4's. As for the headgaskets it may have overheated when the radiator let go and blew the gaskets? Maybe someone more knowledgable can chime in

well hopefully thats all.. is there a solution i guess to the radiator problems? like a beefier radiator? or beefier hoses? Does that sound like a good truck or like its gonna just cause more problems?
