    bought a chip from riff raff with no limit tuning and had it reburned because of excessive smoke, high egt's and sluggish tranny. Still not right but i really want to live tune it but there to far from me for that to happen.

    All i can say is i really like my HFSB. Its a little laggy cuz i havent been live tuned with it yet but tows well and looks cool lol.

    Im running the HFSB (newer version of the GQSSB) also with 250/100's and it works well. Cant wait to get live tuned!

    Im running the Delo syn 5W-40 and have had no issues but i haven't put may miles on this engine yet.

    Horsepower recipes with 38r

    Best set-up i had with a 38R is the 1.15 housing and Full Force 160/100's. Towed well and spooled awesome. Great all around Set-up.

    Im running the FASS Titianium series pump 125 gmp and it is a tad noisy but havent had a single issue with it yet. And from the information i have gathered the newer FASS pumps are built to withstand the pressure requirements of the 7.3. But so far so good.

    The HFSB is a good alternative as well. I really like that turbo on my set-up. Tows really really well and EGT's are way cool.

    Im running the T4i mount with a HFSB (GQSSB) and i like the turbo and the bellowed up-pipes from Carson Stauffer but the drain tube is a joke so i just built my own and everthing is running great.

    Turbo options for a T4 mount

    Im running the T-4i mount with a HFSB which is the newest version of the GQSSB from pius at bell turbo and i really like it. There is also a QSSB which is the same frame but with differnt wheels and housings. It would suit your needs as well. Great turbos in my opinion.

    I would pull the radiator and have it boiled and them try it. Im thinking you have a restiction of flow somewhere.

    I agree i have never had a water temp issue towing heavy. Sure the fan comes on one in awhile but never continously.
